  • Patent number: 5772342
Abstract: After an input width setting mode has been entered by operating an input width set switch, an upper-end position and a lower-end position of an input width are set by an input pen to define an input width of an input width area for inputting a graphic into a drawing area. Further, drawing area coefficients DAC.sub.y, for a transverse direction (Y-axis direction) of a tape, and DAC.sub.x, for a longitudinal direction (X-axis direction), of the tape are determined based on data about the defined input width and data about the width of the tape. Coordinate data of the graphic input within the input width area are transformed into tape coordinates based on the determined drawing area coefficients. Thus, a tape printing apparatus for inputting the graphic is capable of freely setting an input width for each graphic input on the drawing area of the graphic input panel and printing the graphic on the tape under the best possible use of the tape width, by associating the defined input width with the tape width.

  • Patent number: 5706030
Abstract: Disclosed is the tape printer 1 constructed from the main body 2 shaped nearly a rectangular parallelpiped having a front face slightly inclined rearward and the input part 3 shaped like as a flat plate which is extended from a front bottom of the main body 2. On the front face of the main body 2, the liquid crystal display 5 is arranged. In the input part 3, the plate 7, on which the keyboard pattern is printed, is movably arranged under the transparent touch panel 10. The position of the plate 7 is detected based on combinations of ON state and OFF state of the first position sensor 131 and the second position sensor 132. When it is detected by the sensors 131,132 that the plate 7 is positioned under the transparent touch panel 10, the character data is input by using the positional data output from the transparent touch panel 10 through the input pen 6.

  • Patent number: 5657434
Abstract: A method and apparatus for inputting and displaying images includes an input device and a display screen that can only display a portion of an input image. The display range appearing in the display screen is automatically and continuously adjusted to display different portions of the input image based on the position of the input device so that the portions of the image surrounding a cursor are always displayed on the display screen.

  • Patent number: 5504283
Abstract: A conductor pattern surface of a plastically deformable substrate of a key switch device is insulated with a resist, and a switching circuit pattern is printed on the resist layer by using conductive ink. Carbon conductor ink is applied by printing on connectors and fixed contact patterns, and a mask is printed on the other portion. Mounting portions for mounting a guide supporting member are formed on the substrate by pressing the substrate from the lower surface thereof. An object of the invention is to integrate an electrical circuit pattern with a mounting portion of actuator structure so as to provide a key switch device which can reduce the thickness and the number of parts of a keyboard for a word processor, personal computer or any other device having a keyboard or keypad.

  • Patent number: 5122004
Abstract: A label separating system for separating labels from a backing web after the labels have been printed is disclosed. This system utilizes the paper holding roller which is used for holding paper against the platen as it is printed and a separating roller upstream from the paper holding roller. A tractor feed upstream of the separating roller draws the backing web from the platen over the separating roller. A holding member is positioned to limit movement of the paper holding roller as the backing web is placed under tension by the tractor feed, thereby insuring that the backing web disposed between the platen and the separating roller is urged toward a line connecting the center of the platen and the center of the separating roller. This insures that the backing web is bent to a sufficient degree as it passes over the separating roller to cause separation of the label.

  • Patent number: 5069564
Abstract: A printing system prints characters or figures on a label removably adhered to a backing web on a platen roller. Separating rollers are disposed on the downstream side of the platen roller. A backing web with labels fed out from the platen roller after printing is bent by the separating rollers. The backing web bent by the separating rollers is drawn out from the separating rollers by a backing web feeding mechanism. When the backing web is bent by the separating rollers and drawn out from the separating rollers by the backing web feeding mechanism, a label is peeled off from the backing web to which it has been adhered. The separating rollers and the backing web feeding mechanism are coupled in an integral relation to constitute a label separating device. The label separating device is removably supported on a body of the print system.

  • Patent number: 4760217
Abstract: A keyboard including an upper casing which has a key-holder member for movably supporting keys with a movable electrode, and a lower casing which has an integrally formed upraised portion which defines a recess open in the bottom wall of the lower casing. A printed-circuit board is held in direct contact with the top wall of the upraised portion of the lower casing such that stationary electrodes on the printed-circuit board are opposite to the corresponding movable electrodes. The printed-circuit board may be a flexible film-like member on which an elastic sheet having elastically collapsible cap portions is disposed such that the cap portions cooperate with the film-like printed-circuit board to form enclosures in which the corresponding movable and stationary electrodes are accommodated, and such that the cap portions collapse upon operation of the keys for moving of the movable electrodes toward the stationary electrodes.
