Abstract: Systems and methods of developing a tissue deformation profile for a foot of a patient. The tissue deformation profile can be used to identify a desired configuration for an orthotic device. A method uses a sensing orthotic device to assist in the treatment of foot issues. The orthotic device can have at least two sensors and at least one actuator for adjusting physical parameters of the orthotic device.

Abstract: Apparatus including a bone plate that may cooperate with a tension member for reduction and fixation of a bone fracture is disclosed. The bone plate may be configured with a wire channel that receives a tension member so that the reduction wire may extend between the bone plate and a tension post. The bone plate may include flexible members that flex to conform to the cortical surface and may also include a rigid retainer portion that may facilitate reduction and fixation of bone fractures.

Abstract: Apparatus to facilitate reduction and fixation of a fracture by drawing together the fracture by applying tension to a reduction wire are disclosed. These apparatus include a bone plate for the fixation of a fractured bone having a plurality of fastener openings so that the bone plate may be secured by a plurality of fasteners across a reduced fracture to fixate a reduced fracture. The bone plate is configured with a channel that receives a reduction wire so that the reduction wire may extend between the bone plate and a reduction wire mount such as a bone screw.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods to facilitate fixation of a fracture are disclosed. These apparatus include a bone plate for the fixation of a fractured bone having a plurality of fastener openings so that the bone plate may be secured by a plurality of fasteners across a reduced fracture to fixate a reduced fracture. The bone plate is configured to flex in situ to conform to the surface of the bone while providing sufficient stiffness in the plane of the device to resist forces and moments in the plane. Methods of use of the present invention include fastening the bone plate to a first side of the fracture, flexing portions of the bone plate to bias against the bone surface on the second side of the fracture, fastening the portions of the bone plate so biased to the second side of the fracture, thereby fixating the fracture by fastening the bone plate to the second side of the fracture.
