  • Patent number: 10111242
Abstract: A game apparatus repeatedly switches between a doze state in which a wireless communication function is restricted, and an awake state. The game apparatus stores unicast data and broadcast data acquired in the awake state, in a normal queue, and transmits the pieces of data to air in acquisition order. On the other hand, in the doze state, the game apparatus stores acquired broadcast data in a preferential transmission queue, and stores acquired unicast data in the normal queue. Thereafter, when the game apparatus becomes the awake state again, the game apparatus transmits the broadcast data stored in the preferential transmission queue in preference to the unicast data stored in the normal queue.

  • Patent number: 8565227
Abstract: The present invention provides a data communication technology which is capable of securing flexibly a bandwidth for a traffic that is generated and which enables effective use of access lines or wireless resource. A mobile router uses a plurality of communication means, retains a plurality of narrow band communication routes for communicating with the home agent, and configures a broad band communication route by using the plurality of the narrow band communication routes as a single logical communication route. This enables a bandwidth to be flexibly secured in accordance with the traffic which is generated in the mobile network. In this case, the home agent is enabled to effectively use the access lines by referring to the route information so as to determine the destination address. Furthermore, it is possible to save the wireless resource under the initiative of the user by dynamically connecting to an alternative line or disconnecting a line which is being used in response to a request of the user.

  • Patent number: 8000277
Abstract: The mobile communication network system of the present invention is made up from a mobile communication network (MNW), a plurality of external networks (EX1-EX3), a plurality of mobile terminals (x, y, z), a plurality of gateways (EGW1-EGW3) for connecting the external networks (EX1-EX3) and mobile communication network (MNW), and a plurality of radio access points (APa1-APc2) for connecting the mobile terminals (x, y, z) to the mobile communication network (MNW). When packets are transmitted and received between mobile terminals (x, y, z) within the mobile communication network (MNW), the packets are communicated, not by way of external networks (EX1-EX3), but by way of virtual networks that correspond to each external network (EX1-EX3) that have been prepared on the mobile communication network.

  • Patent number: 7872998
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide technology in which an HA is capable of efficiently maintaining registration information of an MR, and communication efficiency in registration/update processing between the HA and the MR is improved. A mobile node has a representative home address, a subsidiary home address, and a care-of address, and registers information (joint information) showing the relation between the representative home address, and all subsidiary home addresses, and the care-of address with the home agent, each time the mobile node moves to other network and is assigned a new care-of address.

  • Patent number: 7590081
Abstract: A radio network can select a route of minimum path loss among entire relay routes and can set the relay route so as to satisfactorily resist interference. The radio network has a core node connected to a wired network, relay nodes each relaying at least one of a down-link data packet transmitted from the core node and an up-link data packet directed toward the core node, and a terminal station capable of transmission and reception of data packets with both the core node and the relay node. The relay node has total path loss optimized to be minimum between relay nodes included in a relay route of the data packet or between the relay node and the core node or both.

  • Publication number: 20070105549
Abstract: Upon receiving a mobile communication control signaling at the time when a mobile terminal 80 makes or receives a call, VPN gateway 100, which serves as a relay node, performs reception determination in cooperation with policy server 200 serving as a bandwidth control mechanism within LAN 20 which is a private network. When permitting the reception, the VPN gateway 100 provides a communication line to the mobile terminal 80 or a pre-shared key is dynamically generated between a radio base station and radio network controller 70, and the pre-shared key is notified to the VPN gateway 100 by the radio network controller 70.

  • Patent number: 7203492
Abstract: In a communications network, a home domain of the network formulates a multicast packet destined to a first multicast address locally unique in the home domain, encapsulates the packet in a packet destined to a second multicast address other than an individual care-of address, and transmits the packet. A mobile node visiting a foreign domain receives a packet containing the second multicast address. In a foreign-to-home multicast transmission, the visiting mobile node formulates a multicast packet destined to the first multicast address, encapsulates the packet in a packet destined to the second multicast address and transmits the packet. In the home domain, a packet containing the second multicast address is received and decapsulated to extract a packet destined to the first multicast address. The second multicast address is either a globally unique multicast address or a foreign local multicast address which is locally unique in the foreign domain.

  • Patent number: 7120146
Abstract: In a communication network where multiple bus systems are interconnected by a bus bridge, a first node attached to a first bus system acquires a first channel for transmission of packets to a first multicast address and broadcasts a first message pertaining to the first channel and the first multicast address. A second node attached to a second bus system acquires a second channel for transmission of packets to a second multicast address and broadcasts a second message pertaining to the second channel and the second multicast address. In response to receipt of the first and second messages, the bus bridge establishes a connection between two channels respectively identified by the received messages if the multicast addresses contained in the received messages are equal to each other.

  • Patent number: 6738816
Abstract: A data communication method allowing reliable real-time communications among a plurality of nodes participating in a session is disclosed. In the case where a plurality of nodes participate in a session such that two or more nodes do not concurrently send data, a session management node reserves a necessary bandwidth needed by all the nodes participating in the session by accessing the Isochronous Resource Manager.

  • Patent number: 6704932
Abstract: In a multi-access communication system where a center station dynamically allocates the band of an uplink to subscriber stations, the band of an uplink is flexibly and efficiently allocated when the up-service quality is insured. When requesting a service quality assurance, the subscriber station 30 transmits the service quality request information 210 to the center station 10. The center station 10 transmits the identifier allocation information 310 to the subscriber station 30 to allocate an identifier. When the service priority is high, the center station 10 periodically transmits the reservation transmission permission information 410 and 411 to the subscriber station 3 at the reservation permission transmission intervals 910, thus checking for the presence or absence of reservation information. Waste consumption of the up-band can be suppressed by periodically transmitting the reservation transmission permission information even if subscriber stations issue up-data at irregular intervals.

  • Publication number: 20030224775
Abstract: A radio terminal device informs a radio base station of entrance into a communication suppress mode such as a power saving mode by transmitting a state transition informing packet to the radio base station, when detecting deterioration of a communication. The packet received by the radio base station in this state is retained by the radio base station. When receiving an acknowledgment signal from the radio base station, the radio terminal device changes the setting of a receiver to a radio channel different from a radio channel used in the communication with the radio base station, and searches for other radio base stations.

  • Publication number: 20030179731
Abstract: A mobile node receives cell-site transmitted signals and determines their channel quality while establishing a unicast packet session, and transmits a report to the current cell-site if there is at least one neighbor cell-site detected whose channel quality is higher than that of the current cell-site for informing the identifier and channel quality of the detected cell-site, and requesting the resource necessary to support the session. In one embodiment, the current cell-site selects candidate cell-sites based on the report and informs the mobile node of the selected cell-sites. The mobile node selects a new cell-site from the candidate cell-sites and informs the current cell-site of the new cell-site. The requested resource is then reserved in the new cell-site and an IP address and at least one channel identifier are assigned. The mobile node uses the channel identifier to establish a wireless link of the reserved resource to the new cell-site and the IP address to reestablish the session.
