  • Patent number: 7573671
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a disk device capable of diminishing oscillation of a disk caused by an air flow which is created with rotation of the disk. In one embodiment, a magnetic disk device comprises a rotatable magnetic disk, a base and a top cover for housing the magnetic disk inside, a flow uniforming wall disposed along an outer periphery of the magnetic disk, and a circulation filter for collecting dust present within the device. The flow uniforming wall is positioned in opposition to the outer periphery of the magnetic disk and has a step height at a position other than the position opposed to the disk outer periphery, with an opening being formed by a gap between the step height and the top cover. This opening serves as an inlet port to admit an air flow created with rotation of the magnetic disk, and the circulation filter collects dust contained in the admitted air flow.

  • Patent number: 7420784
Abstract: A flexible printed circuit board using a lead-free solder is to be fixed within a disk enclosure while ensuring a high rigidity. In one embodiment, a rotating disk storage device comprises a flexible printed circuit board (FPC), wherein there is formed a wiring pattern including a signal line for the transmission of a signal of data read by a head in an actuator head suspension assembly (AHSA) and wherein one side end portion is fixed to a base and an opposite side end portion is fixed to the AHSA. A first metallic plate and a second metallic plate are both fixed to one side end portion of the FPC. A connector is disposed in an area where the first metallic plate in the FPC is provided, and connected to the wiring pattern. A shock sensor is disposed in an area where the second metallic plate in the FPC is provided, and connected to the wiring pattern.

  • Patent number: 4980676
Abstract: A pair of leg members, each of which has a front end forming a curved surface and a recess formed to continue the front end, are provided on both sides of a keyboard respectively, a bottom is formed so that it projects forward at the lower portion of the case, and a pair of recesses are provided on both sides of the bottom respectively. Each of recesses has a receiving surface, on which the curved surface of the front end of the leg members can slide, and an end, which can fit into the recess of the leg member. When the keyboard is pivoted from the upright position to a surface on which an electronic apparatus is positioned, on a predetermined point of the leg member as a fulcrum by sliding the curved surface of the front end of the leg members on the receiving surface formed on the recess in the bottom, the recess in the leg member is fitted into the end of the recess in the bottom to provide a predetermined angle for the keyboard.
