  • Patent number: 4583171
Abstract: In an automatic transmission control device, an electric selector includes a circular common switch, a P range switch, a R range switch, a N range switch and a D range switch. A range shifting is instructed by the electric selector. When the common switch and one of the range switches are both operated in a predetermined manner, an instruction signal is delivered from the electric selector to a microcomputer. The microcomputer discriminates whether the instruction is proper or not. When the instruction is not proper, the microcomputer does not generate range shifting signals to a transmission actuator and generates a long buzzer drive signal. A driver of a vehicle is notified about this fact by a long sound of a buzzer.

  • Patent number: 4569027
Abstract: A method of detecting the rotational speed of a rotary member, which comprises the steps of detecting, in sequence, a time period indicative of the interval between successive preceding and following angular positions of the rotary member, memorizing in turn from each of the angular positions of the rotary member a series of the time periods detected during one rotation of the rotary member, substituting the foremost time period memorized during one rotation of the rotary member for the foremost time period memorized during the preceding one rotation of the rotary member, and calculating the sum of the substituted time period and the remaining time periods memorized during the preceding one rotation of the rotary member upon detection of each of the angular positions to detect the actual rotational speed of the rotary member.

  • Patent number: 4560024
Abstract: An automatic running speed control system for an automotive vehicle in which there are provided a plurality of control switches including a set switch and capable of selectively setting changing drive conditions of a car and a control unit which includes a memory for storing set car speed, a comparator for comparing the actual car speed detected by a speed sensor with the set car speed read from the memory, and an overdrive cut circuit for inhibiting an overdrive condition of an automatic transmission when a fine speed reduction operation is performed by the operation of the set switch or speed reduction switch. With this construction, the automatic constant speed running of a car is performed so as to equalize the actual car speed to the set car speed stored in the memory, while the overdrive condition of the automatic transmission can be inhibited or prevented by the operation of a particular switch such as the set switch.

  • Patent number: 4506752
Abstract: A running control system for vehicles includes a control unit, a plurality of control switches for selecting various operations, a throttle actuator, and an automatic transmission having a lock-up clutch solenoid. An automatic cruise control operation and transmission control operation is performed by the output control signals from the control unit through the throttle actuator, the lock-up clutch, and the solenoids in accordance with the set conditions of the control switches and detected signals from a vehicle speed sensor and a throttle valve sensor. With this construction, when the vehicle speed is above a predetermined value and automatic cruising is instructed, the lock-up clutch is compulsorily operated and this locked up condition of the clutch is maintained during the automatic cruising condition, thus enabling improved fuel comsumption as well as power transmission efficiency.
