  • Publication number: 20060064502
Abstract: Every being has a presence and can be associated with an ID. Popular IDs such as AOL ID, Yahoo ID, MSN ID, SIP ID, or PSTN and mobile telephone numbers, etc. are used by people to read their emails, send IMs, talk, interact, watch TV, etc. IDs such as biometrics IDs and social security IDs, RFIDs, etc. are used for more secure access. But, these popular IDs cannot be used for other purposes like logging on to ENeedsOnline auction process or making a purchase online or banking online, etc. The present invention describes a way to improve a user's experience of signing in and creating a presence, and associating these popular IDs with a Single ID allowing access to portals, online banking, shopping, etc. It also solves the bigger problem of keeping track of multiple IDs and the passwords associated with the IDs.

  • Publication number: 20060041499
Abstract: A process for obtaining a need with guiding information and credit worthiness using a competitive process. The competitive process could be a reverse auction where multiple sellers bid on the need. The guiding information and credit worthiness make the need under bid a competitive one for the buyer and the seller, allowing the buyer to obtain the need at an attractive price, while allowing the seller to sell at a reasonable price.

  • Publication number: 20030149797
Abstract: A method for moving data between processes in a computer-based system. Each process calls for one or more symbols in a first library. A second library comprises one or more equivalent symbols with Fast Sockets technology having a door interprocess communication mechanism. The call for a symbol in the first library from each process is interposed with a corresponding symbol in the second library. Each process communicates synchronization signals through the doors. Each process transfers data through a mapped memory based on the synchronization signals.

  • Patent number: 6125402
Abstract: Methods, systems, and software for executing a particular form of a multi-purpose program in a distributed computing environment are disclosed. In one embodiment, a multi-purpose program is executed in one of two forms upon a request to invoke the multipurpose program in a distributed computing environment. If the program is invoked for executing in an applet form, one possible form of the multi-purpose program, the system makes dynamic calls to a remotely accessible file library for operation of a specific function of the program. If the program is invoked for executing in an application form, another possible form of the program, the system makes local calls to a locally accessible file library for operation of a specific function of the program. In a preferred embodiment, a startup environment is created and adapted for running any one of the several forms of the multi-purpose program.

  • Patent number: 6038588
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer readable medium for creating, updating, and displaying a modal progress dialog window containing a job-specific progress indicator is described. The modal progress dialog window is updated while the job, typically a user-invoked function within an application, is running. As a modal dialog window, its creation is accompanied by the creation of a second thread. The second thread works in conjunction with a host application thread to create, display, refresh, and dispose the progress dialog window. Because the host thread and the second thread are able to alternate control of the progress dialog window, the progress indicator within the window is updated and displayed at meaningful intervals upto job completion on a display monitor while the job is running.

  • Patent number: 5995984
Abstract: A graphic screen including data in a table format is displayed in a window. The window implements a Zoom-In function using a Zoom-In display element. A user "Zooms-In" to any row in the table by selecting a row and activating the Zoom-In display element. While displaying the same window, activation of the Zoom-In display element hides the table and displays detailed information in a form format for updating the selected row of the table. The table is hidden and the form format is presented until the user activates a "Zoom-Out" display element, terminating the detailed information form format display and leaving the table display exposed. In the form format, the user performs functions including modifying data relating to a table entry, saving the modified or entered data, proceeding to the next row item, or regressing to the previous row.

  • Patent number: 5991762
Abstract: A method for creating a table object made up of one or more columns, where the table object can be used as a programming interface or wrapper for an underlying table component is described. The table is made up of one or more column objects that can be used in other tables with minor alterations. The column objects are created to hold data of one type. This type can be a basic data type or a specialized graphical user interface type, allowing for great flexibility in creating table data structures for holding data of a wide variety. The table object is used to facilitate the use of an underlying table component, which may contain its own search engine. The table object acts as a wrapper for the table component allowing the application developer to use columns from other tables for use with a particular underlying table component without having to recreate or rewrite computer code for that particular underlying table component.
