  • Patent number: 8886251
Abstract: When a handover apparatus of a user terminal enters a small scale cell within a macrocell area in a state that it is connected to a macrocell, the handover apparatus acquires a delay parameter of the small scale cell and delays handover for a time period of the delay parameter of the small scale cell and determines handover to the small scale cell. Thereby, handover to the small scale cell for a temporal user of the small scale cell can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20140308941
Abstract: An apparatus and method are disclosed for dynamically controlling access to a Femto Cell Access Point (FAP). The apparatus includes a policy configuration unit, a mode setting unit, a use information acquisition unit, and an available information extraction unit. The policy configuration unit configures a policy for switching between a first mode in which a Mobile Station (MS) of a non-subscriber of the FAP is prevented from being connected to the FAP and a second mode in which the MS of the non-subscriber of the FAP is permitted to be connected to the FAP. The mode setting unit sets an access mode of the FAP to the first or second mode according to the policy. The use information acquisition unit obtains use information. The available information extraction unit extracts available information.

  • Patent number: 8619783
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system and method for coupling communication terminals. In a communication method performed by a terminal coupler according to the present invention, sequence numbers are sequentially assigned to data packets received from a terminal end device. The data packets with the sequence numbers assigned thereto are individually transferred to a plurality of communication terminals belonging to a same group in conformity with preset scheduling policies. Data packets, received from the plurality of communication terminals belonging to the same group, are reordered by sequence numbers, and the reordered data packets are transferred to the terminal end device.

  • Patent number: 8611374
Abstract: The present invention relates to a protocol data unit (PDU) reordering method in a wireless communication system. The terminal maintains the number of bytes of PDUs stored in the buffer for reordering PDUs received in a sequence that is changed due to HARQ error correction to thereby prevent overflow of the reordering buffer. When the HARQ function unit transmits a PDU received at the radio access control RAS (S101), the PDU reordering unit of the access terminal sets a current frame number as an arrival frame number of the received PDU (S102). When a current frame number is stored as an arrival frame number of a received frame, the PDU reordering unit compares a sequence number (SN) of a received PDU with a sequence number of a PDU that is about to be reordered (S 103). If the PDU has already been reordered, the received PDU is discarded (S 104).

  • Publication number: 20120021791
Abstract: Each base station performs virtual scheduling that does not take cell association into account for each slot and actual scheduling that takes cell association into account to calculate difference in average transmission rates for each user terminal and stores them in a table. The difference in the average transmission rates for each user terminal is compared with a difference in average transmission rates for each user terminal received from a neighboring base station to determine a handoff decision for each user terminal.

  • Patent number: 7995521
Abstract: The present invention relates to an uplink framing method and apparatus in a mobile communication system. After a mobile terminal and a base station are connected to each other in a wireless manner, the base station allocates an uplink radio resource to a medium access control (MAC) layer of the mobile terminal, and then scheduling is performed for each connection in a buffer. Next, a packet data unit (PDU) is generated to satisfy the uplink time constraint and then transmitted to the base station. Therefore, hardware implementation complexity can be minimized in a mobile communication system that should support fast data transmission, and at the same time, a required uplink framing time can be minimized in a system that supports a short frame period.
