  • Patent number: 6795488
Abstract: A searcher detecting signal indicating conditions of propagation paths is detected from incoming waves of a pilot signal transmitted at the highest electric power. In a RAKE reception for one code channel, an interference replica signal functioning as an interference signal for an incoming wave of the code channel to be demodulated in one finger unit is produced from reference signals produced in the other finger units and the searcher detecting signal, an interference removal is performed for a receiving signal according to the interference replica signal, and the demodulation of the RAKE reception is performed. In the demodulation based on a plural code channel, a reference signal is produced in one of the finger units, an interference replica signal is produced from the reference signal and the searcher detecting signal, an interference removal is performed for the receiving signal according to the interference replica signal, and the demodulation based on the plural code channel is performed.

  • Patent number: 5889815
Abstract: A spread spectrum communication receiver includes a plurality of fingers each including a despreader part, an inverse-orthogonal conversion part and a demodulation part. A channel combining part combines demodulated symbols of the plurality of fingers. A control part controls the plurality of fingers on the basis of orthogonal channel allocation information and channel state information so that the fingers execute a RAKE process when the channel information indicates that data to be transmitted is allocated to one orthogonal channel at a transmitter and the fingers perform parallel demodulation processes then the channel information indicates that data to be transmitted is allocated to a plurality of orthogonal channels at the transmitter.

  • Patent number: 5509020
Abstract: A received data decoding apparatus receives and decodes transmitted convolutional code data. The received data is formed of a first channel whose data rate is fixed and a second channel whose data rate is variable. The received data decoding apparatus includes a most likelihood decoder for decoding the received data on the basis of a Viterbi algorithm and a data rate decision unit for obtaining a predetermined data rate of the second channel determined according to a path metric amount which is a decoded output from the most likelihood decoder.
