  • Patent number: 4232757
Abstract: Automobile speed control to maintain actual automobile speed at a desired automobile speed, in which a superposed electrical analog signal formed by a first electrical signal indicating actual automobile speed and a feedback signal indicating fuel injection duration in an engine of an automobile is supplied to a comparator which compares it with a second electrical signal indicating desired automobile speed and memorized on a capacitor. The differential signal or error signal at the output of the comparator circuit is supplied to a servomotor which controls the position or opening of a throttle valve of the engine. The feedback signal is supplied from an injection time signal generator circuit which, in response to a fuel injection command signal from an electronic fuel injection control device associated with the engine, generates an electrical analog signal corresponding to fuel injection duration.

  • Patent number: 4215760
Abstract: Automobile speed control system to maintain actual automobile speed at a desired automobile speed, in which a first electrical signal indicating actual automobile speed is compared with a second electrical signal indicating desired automobile speed in a comparator circuit to obtain an error signal indicating the difference between actual and desired automobile speeds. The error signal is supplied to throttle valve control means to shift a throttle valve into a position at which actual automobile speed equals the desired automobile speed. A superposed signal, consisting of the first electric signal and a negative feedback signal substantially indicating throttle valve position, is applied to a memory capacitor which provides the second electrical signal. Rememorization of the capacitor is controlled by a set switch through a memorization control circuit. The desired automobile speed level to be memorized on the capacitor is controlled by closure duration and closure repetition of the set switch.

  • Patent number: 4211257
Abstract: A solenoid-operated fluid control valve has an armature assembly which includes a reciprocally movable platelike magnetic valve member and a seal element loosely retained by the valve member and projecting therefrom. A magnetic core defines a fluid passageway and has a valve seating surface at its one end. The valve seating surface of the magnetic core opens in a valve chamber which surrounds the side surface of the magnetic valve member to guide its movement toward and away from the valve seating surface and to maintain the seal element in alignment with the valve seating surface. The seal element has opposed conical or spherical ends and an annular recess therebetween. The seal element loosely engages with and retained by an opening of the magnetic valve member to abut concentric with the valve seating surface of the magnetic core in spite of a slight eccentricity of the assembly within the valve chamber.

  • Patent number: 4202424
Abstract: Automobile speed control system to maintain actual automobile speed to desired automobile speed, in which a first electrical signal indicating the actual automobile speed is compared with a second electrical signal indicating the desired automobile speed with a comparator circuit to obtain an error signal indicating speed difference between the actual and desired automobile speeds. • Patent number: 4196787
Abstract: A desired automobile speed signal memory circuit for an automobile speed control system to maintain actual automobile speed constant at a desired speed. The memory circuit memorizes an actual automobile speed signal at the moment a desired speed set switch is closed. This memorized automobile speed signal is then used as a reference signal by the automobile speed control system to keep the actual automobile speed constant. The memory circuit has a capacitor which memorizes the desired speed signal, a first FET which forms a memorization loop with the capacitor upon the closure of the desired speed set switch, and a second FET which supplies the memorized desired speed signal on the capacitor in an impedance conversion mode as the reference signal used by the automobile speed control system to maintain constant the speed of the automobile.

  • Patent number: 4191051
Abstract: The idle speed of an engine is controlled in response to a control signal derived from the voltage across a thermistor responsive to the temperature of the engine cooling water. The thermistor voltage level varies exponentially with temperature changes. An engine idle speed control signal generator circuit includes a network of resistors, diodes and a transistor which produces an output control signal whose maximum level is limited to a value corresponding to a desired maximum idle speed, and whose minimum level is maintained above a value corresponding to the minimum desired idling speed. The circuit also adjusts the level of the output control signal to compensate for varying engine loads and faults in the circuit.

  • Patent number: 4190026
Abstract: An automobile speed control for maintaining actual road speed at a preselected driving speed. To control throttle position so as to maintain the actual road speed at the preselected speed, a first error signal is obtained from a comparator. The first error signal is, for the purpose of stabilizing the actual road speed, compared with a negative feedback signal to generate the final throttle position control signal. The negative feedback signal is obtained from an intake air flow rate detector to prevent increasing the force required for operating the throttle valve control mechanism and to facilitate installation of the speed control system.
