    Abstract: In an infusion pump or especially a peristaltic infusion pump of the type in which a drug liquid is forced to flow through an infusion tube by peristalsis, the pump mechanism can be readily pulled out of the main body. More specifically, the pump mechanism can be detachably fitted into and held at a predetermined position in a pump mechanism housing recess defined in an infusion pump casing and the pumping mechanism is then drivingly coupled through a suitable power transmission mechanism with a driving means disposed within the casing. And the pump mechanism is separated from the interior of the casing by means of the pump mechanism housing recess.
