  • Patent number: 7581339
Abstract: A snow removing machine has a frame, a pair of transporting devices mounted on the frame for transporting the snow removing machine on a ground surface, an auger housing having an auger housed therein and mounted on the frame for undergoing rolling movement, a rolling drive mechanism coupled to the auger housing for providing rolling movement of the auger housing relative to the frame, and a turning mechanism operable to turn the snow removing machine in a preselected direction. In response to operation of the turning mechanism, a control section performs a control operation to drive the transporting devices to thereby turn the snow removing machine in the preselected direction and performs a control operation of the rolling drive mechanism to provide rolling movement of the auger housing relative to the frame.

  • Publication number: 20060123667
Abstract: In a snow removing machine, left and right running devices and auger housing are mounted on a running-device frame, and the auger housing is rollable by a rolling drive mechanism. In response to operation of a turning operator, a control section performs control to drive the left and right running devices to thereby turn the machine, and the control section also issues a drive instruction to the rolling drive mechanism to roll the auger housing in an inward direction, as viewed in the turning direction of the machine, such that a portion of one of the opposite side edges of the auger housing, located inwardly of the other side edge as viewed in the turning direction, is brought into contact with the ground surface.

  • Patent number: 7059071
Abstract: A self-propelled walk-behind snowplow vehicle has a vehicle body and a vertical engine mounted on an upper part of the vehicle body. The vertical engine has a crankshaft disposed generally vertical and a cylinder head disposed generally horizontal to a longitudinal direction of the snowplow vehicle. The cylinder head projects from the vehicle body in a rearward direction of the snowplow vehicle. Left and right traveling units are mounted on a lower part of the vehicle body at left and right sides thereof. A muffler is connected to the engine and is disposed below the engine and located between the left and right traveling units. The vehicle body and the left and right traveling units together define a downward opening space within which the muffler is disposed.

  • Patent number: 6173799
Abstract: A motor-assisted single-wheel cart is provided with a motor for generating an assisting power in response to an operation force when operating an operation handle by a human hand, and a power transmission mechanism for transmitting an output of the motor to an axle. The motor is arranged rearwardly upwardly of the axle so as to be positioned within a space surrounded by an upper horizontal member and a lower member positioned below the upper horizontal member constituting a vehicle body frame constituting the cart as viewing the vehicle body frame from a side surface thereof. The power transmission mechanism has a first speed reduction mechanism arranged near the motor, a second speed reduction mechanism arranged near the wheel and a transmission shaft for connecting them. The transmission shaft is inserted to the first and second speed reduction mechanisms so as to be capable of being drawn out.

  • Patent number: 6129166
Abstract: A four-wheeled-electromotive cart includes a single motor and a direct axle driving mechanism for driving the axle of left and right front wheels by means of the motor. The single electric motor would cause no rotation speed difference between the left and right front wheels and hence constantly permits a smooth linear movement of the electromotive cart. The direct axle driving mechanism includes a relay shaft connected to the output shaft of the electric motor, a small-diameter bevel gear mounted on a lower end of the relay shaft, and a large-diameter bevel gear engaging with the small-diameter bevel gear. The front-wheel axle is spline-connected to the large-diameter bevel gear so as to be driven by the motor via the direct axle driving mechanism. Thus, the electromotive cart is allowed to smoothly start moving without sudden jolts or shocks caused by start of the motor rotation.

  • Patent number: 4322896
Abstract: A snow blowing machine is disclosed, in which collection and throwing of snow is effected by an auger and blower assembly rotating at high speed and which is in direct engagement with the ground, the auger and blower assembly having blades edged with an antifriction material which reduces the frictional engagement of the auger and blade assembly with the ground, the residual friction providing the motive force for moving the snow blowing machine across the ground, thus eliminating the requirement for a separate drive for that purpose, and also eliminating a separate drive to the blower.

  • Patent number: 4212141
Abstract: A lawn mowing machine of a self-driving type having a rotating and stopping device for a lawn cutting blade and a driving and stopping device for the machine body, in which a gripping lever for on-and-off operations of the rotating and stopping device for the cutting blade is operable independently of a gripping lever for on-and-off operations of the driving and stopping device for the machine body, while the latter-mentioned lever, when it is gripped, is engaged with the former-mentioned lever to move it in an operative direction, thereby maintaining it in an operative state.
