Abstract: Described herein are ways to establish a secure online health record for storing health information of one of a plurality of patients in a multi-user repository established on a server computer system and accessible via a client computer. Authorized users of the server computer systems may read and update a patient's health information based on authority given to them by the patient. Scope of such authorization may be determined by an authorization key that the authorized user provides to the server computer system, which may also allow access to the patient's health information in case of a medical emergency.

Also described is a method whereby changes are effective at a future date and information as to when the changes would be effective may be transmitted to designated entities.

Abstract: Disclosed are method, system and article of manufacture for restricting use of a digital item stored in a client computer by sending an instruction from a server computer via a network. The server computer is configured to hold accounts for a plurality of users, each of which of the plurality of users may access the server computer via respective client computers. The server computer receives an instruction from a second client computer, and the server computer sends a message to the first client computer that the digital item should be restricted based on an identification parameter—such as type of the first client computer, user identifier, authorization key, an internet address, time of day, day of week, or an expiration date—received from the first client computer, whereupon the first client computer disables, deletes or locks a file on the first client computer.

Abstract: In a server-computer implemented system for online document collaboration, a document stored online in a first account may be modified by one or more of an authorized first group of users, which modifications are received and applied to the document. Electronic notification that the document is modified is sent to one or more of an authorized second group of users, who can thereafter further modify the document, or indicate their approval or disapproval of the modifications made by the one or more of the authorized first group of users. The one or more of the authorized first group of users is authorized to make specific permitted changes to the document, and if an attempt is made to change the document in a manner not permitted, then an alarm condition is generated.

Abstract: Registered users with a server computer system designate their preferences with respect to specified products and/or services by making a selection via a user-selectable area on a client computer. These preferences are then stored in an online repository coupled to the Internet. The online repository permits users to update their preferences. Marketing entities that wish to market products and/or services to the users are designated by the online repository as recipients of updates to user preferences. Based on these updated user preferences, marketing entities are enabled to provide marketing information to the registered users.
