  • Patent number: 5641046
Abstract: A bi-directional clutch particularly suited for hand-powered applications where motion is imparted to a pulley. The device includes a pair of wedge-shaped circular plates each of which is urged to a disengaged or idle position under the force of gravity when no motion is being transmitted. Imparted rotational movement in either direction brings an angled surface of a driving plate into contact with a corresponding angled surface of a driven plate which motion pushes an opposite surface of the driven plate into contact with a side surface of the pulley for transmitting corrresponding rotation.

  • Patent number: 5611639
Abstract: An improved locking fastener construction for use in interconnecting and assembling the components of articles which are normally stored and shipped in knock-down condition to be assembled at a final location. The construction is particularly suited for assembling articles having abutting surfaces which would normally be interconnected by screws or rivet. The construction includes a planar base member having an interconnecting surface, a plurality of headed projections extending from said surface, an attachable member having a main wall and a laterally extending flange having shaped openings corresponding in size and location to the headed projections, and a corresponding number of synthetic resinous clip elements of limited flexibility adapted to engage the headed projections to maintain them within the corresponding openings and the laterally extending flange in contact with the interconnecting surface.

  • Patent number: 4852379
Abstract: The disclosure relates to improved methods of forming sheet metal of general application, and particularly useful in the formation of certain forms of merchandise display devices having relatively moving parts serving to serially advance stacks of merchandise packages.

  • Patent number: 4664040
Abstract: A sheet metal folding shelf construction particularly suited for desk top use which may be transported in partially assembled folded condition to be subsequently erected by a user with a minimum of manipulation. A back panel is hingedly interconnected at each end to a pair of side panels, the side panels defining slots in which shelf members are engaged, the engagement of the shelf members serving to inhibit axial movement of the hinged components on the back and side elements.

  • Patent number: 4630739
Abstract: A synthetic resinous rack construction formed entirely from planar molded sections having resiliently flexible interlocking means to maintain the component parts in assembled condition. As contrasted with prior art metallic construction, interconnecting component parts results in immediate maintenance of correct mutual angular relation thereby facilitating the further assembly of the remaining component parts.

  • Patent number: 4573736
Abstract: A chair with resilient means for assisting an occupant in raising himself to a standing position. The seat cushion pivots relative to the chair frame about an axis near the rearward edge thereof, movement serving to at least partially simultaneously elevate the arm rests as well. When the chair is occupied, resilient struts are compressed; and the seat may be manually locked in position against strut compression.

  • Patent number: 4449631
Abstract: A sealable package for pharmaceutical and other products which will immediately reveal the presence of tampering. The package consists of a sealed envelope of thermoplastic film having a printed outline in which the sealing of the package is performed at the printed outline. After sealing, the film is shrunk tending to inflate the sealed area because of entrapped air. Should the package be ruptured the inflation is lost. Should the package be cut at the sealed area, it is impossible to reseal the package without a visual indication caused by irregularities in the printed area.

  • Patent number: 4329967
Abstract: A damper type control for furnace flues which opens with commencement of oil burner operation and closes when combustion ceases. The damper is operated solely by the presence of draft created by the oil burner blower, and closes in the absence of such draft under the influence of a counterweight. With the occurrence of wind passing the open end of the flue, the pressure differential on either side of the damper also assists in maintaining the damper in closed condition.
