Patent number: 8782533Abstract: The invention relates to a method of enabling a first user and a second user to obtain collaborative content. The method comprises steps of obtaining a plurality of content preference data comprising a first content preference data (121) of the first user and a second content preference data (131) of the second user, obtaining dependency data (114, 114a) indicating dependency of the first content preference data on the second content preference data, and using the plurality of content preference data for a selection of the collaborative content under control of the dependency data. The invention also relates to a collaborative device for enabling a first user and a second user to obtain collaborative content.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2006Date of Patent: July 15, 2014Assignee: Koninklijke Philips N.V.Inventors: Natasha Kravtsova, Herman Ter Horst, Warner Rudolph Theophile Ten Kate, Johannes Henricus Maria Korst

Patent number: 8490971Abstract: A wireless die (2) comprises an orientation detector (4) for determining an orientation of the die (2) and a transmitter (5) connected to the orientation detector (4) for transmitting die (2) orientation data to the receiver (3). The orientation detector (4) comprises at least two electromechanical detectors (6), the electromechanical detectors (6) being arranged for generating electrical power for the orientation detector (4) and transmitter (5), and for supplying gravity based orientation data.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 2005Date of Patent: July 23, 2013Assignee: Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V.Inventors: Martin Ouwerkerk, Ronaldus Maria Aarts, Natasha Kravtsova, Evert Jan Van Loenen, Daniel Willem Elisabeth Schobben, Bartel Marinus Van De Sluis, Maarten Peter Bodlaender

Publication number: 20100019922Abstract: Simple gestures such as stroking or tapping of a surface (10) can be used to control common functions of electronic systems (16) by positioning one or more sensors (12) on the surface and detecting sounds generated by the interaction with the surface. Signals corresponding to detected sounds are filtered and interpreted either in the system to be controlled or else in the sensors themselves. The direction of movement of a hand (18) stroking the surface can be interpreted as a command to increase or decrease a parameter, such as the sound volume level of a television, for example. Determination of the position of the user's hand is unnecessary. The apparatus is therefore simple, inexpensive, robust and discrete, requiring only a minimum of installation and without being necessarily dedicated to a particular electronic system to be controlled.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 15, 2007Publication date: January 28, 2010Applicant: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS ELECTRONICS N.V.Inventors: Evert Jan Van Loenen, Ronaldus Maria Aarts, Elmo Marcus Attila Diederiks, Natasha Kravtsova, Anthonie Hendrik Bergman

Patent number: 7027956Abstract: The invention concerns an apparatus and method for the gathering of data relating to aspects of a user's surroundings, particularly to the logging and subsequent retrieval of environmental data. In embodiments of the invention, the apparatus comprises one or more logging stations (10), a data bank (20), a user station (30) and a contributor station (40). Each user has a user identifier card (50) on which logging preferences may be stored. Each logging station (10) is arranged for recognizing a period during which a user is present, and logging personal data according to the logging preferences while the user is present. Further, when the user is no longer at a particular logging station (10), the logging station in question transmits information including user ID and logged data to the data bank (20), from which the user station (30) may later retrieve the information.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2002Date of Patent: April 11, 2006Assignee: Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V.Inventors: Johannes Govert Sinke, Natasha Kravtsova

Publication number: 20030037097Abstract: Disclosed is a method of retrieving information content in a computer network. The method comprises the steps of specifying a search criterion on a user computer (101) of the computer network; transmitting a first mobile agent (111a) including computer-executable program code means and the search criterion to at least a first host computer (102, 103, 104, 105, 106) of the computer network; generating a search result by means of the received first mobile agent indicative of whether the information content corresponding to the specified search criterion is available on the first host computer and, if the information content is available on the first host computer, initiating downloading the information content from the first host computer to a predetermined target computer.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 17, 2002Publication date: February 20, 2003Inventors: Andre Philippe Meyer, Natasha Kravtsova
