    Abstract: The various embodiments provide methods and systems for anonymously processing medical studies within a diagnostic healthcare environment. The embodiment methods and systems may provide efficient means for providing expert professionals with medical, legal, or other studies for review, without revealing client-identifying information. The embodiment methods and systems may further provide a means for obtaining professional expert opinion about case evidence from a number of experts all at the same time. The experts may be anonymous with reference to the requesting user (e.g., an attorney) and thus may be shielded from subpoena or further inquiry. The experts may also be free of biases as they would be unaware of the context and associations of the professional case review. Thus, the systems and methods of the various embodiments may provide a double-blind analysis of case evidence such as medical studies.

    Abstract: We have recognized a limitation that may arise when seeking to deliver both navigational and non-navigational content to a mobile user. The limitation is that the presentation of at least certain non-navigational content may interfere with presentation of the navigational content and vice versa. In accordance with an aspect of this invention, the above mentioned limitation is avoided by the following two steps. The first step is ascertaining an available window of time before a piece of navigational content needs to be presented to the mobile user. The second step is identifying a piece of non-navigational content which can be presented in its totality within the available window of time. Choosing non-navigational content which may be completely presented during an available window of time avoids the limitation noted above.

    Abstract: A subcutaneous, venous catheter is provided in conjunction with a method of installation in hemodialysis treatments. The catheter has an implantable hub attached to a first end of the primary lumen. An anchoring back plate is pivottably secured to the catheter hub and surgically anchored to underlying musculature. Once the device is implanted, the hub can be arcuately translated underneath the skin by applying gentle pressure to either side of the hub. To reduce fluid stagnation within and around the lumen, a series of piezo-electric elements are integrated therein. A vibration processor is electrically connected to the piezo-electric elements such that the initiation of electrical current by the vibration processor results in contraction of the piezo-electric elements. Expansion and contraction of these elements propagates low-energy acoustic waves through the lumen, agitating liquid contained therein and improving flow of same through the catheter lumen.

    Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for processing refund requests. For IPTV broadcast programs, refund requests initiated by users may be for pay-per-view or on-demand programs. After accepting the refund request, user information and historical event information for the provider network are collected and analyzed using a set of rules. The refund request may be granted or denied, either in whole or in part, based on the user information and the historical event information. In addition, detection of network outages and service interruptions is correlated to the refund requests, whereby remediation service may be initiated for network components determined to be in a fault condition.
