  • Patent number: 10288398
Abstract: A non-lethal, non-impact smart projectile fired from a suitable launcher and equipped with a digital camera, CPU microprocessor and computer vision programming that can recognize a designated target and track a moving target, while moving at high speed. An image dataset of the target stored in memory of the CPU that enables the projectile to recognize a human or small UAV “drone” in real time within fractions of a second. A steering and braking system comprising several fins/air brakes, controlled by the CPU and MEMS micro-actuators, that enable the projectile to track a moving target or slow the projectile down. A projectile equipped with actuators that dispenses a non-lethal, non-impact payload or payloads as the projectile approaches the target.

  • Publication number: 20070151551
Abstract: A weapon, such as a semi-automatic gun pistol, is disclosed for discharging high velocity, non-lethal projectiles utilizing pressurized gas. The weapon includes a housing having a handle and a projectile storage cylinder sized and shaped to receive a plurality of substantially spherical-shaped projectiles. A discharge barrel is mounted proximate the projectile storage cylinder and has an open muzzle end and a closed base end, while a projectile loading chamber is disposed at the barrel base end and communicates with the projectile storage cylinder. An enclosure is provided in the housing for receiving a removable pressurized gas storage source. A gas discharge cell communicates with the gas storage source in the enclosure and is adapted to receive compressed gas for selective projectile discharge.

  • Publication number: 20030156938
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for capturing and converting wind energy to electrical energy. The apparatus includes a tower member arranged in the form of an elongated conduit having first and second end portions. A wind collector is provided and is associated with the conduit first end portion. The wind collector has an air inlet to capture environmental wind originating from one or more directions and then deflect the captured wind into the conduit to create an axial airflow therein. Finally, a wind turbine device is disposed at the conduit second end portion for receiving the airflow from the conduit in order to generate electricity therefrom.

  • Patent number: 5855646
Abstract: A method and device indirectly monitors the purity of nitrogen gas manufactured from air using a permeable membrane to separate air components. A gas flow measuring device inserted in gas conduits downstream from the membrane monitors nitrogen gas purity by measuring normal flow and detects deviation from desired purity levels by changing gas flow caused by manufacturing apparatus malfunctions.

  • Patent number: 5688306
Abstract: The invention produces essentially pure nitrogen from air by an intermittent, automatic, and unattended process. Air is filtered, compressed and enters a nitrogen module containing a permeable membrane that selectively separates nitrogen from the air and discharges oxygen and other gases. Automated temperature and pressure controls allow the permeable membrane to separate air components. A discharge hose allows use of the nitrogen product for a variety of intermittent applications including vending for inflation of tires, filling portable nitrogen vessels, and use in manufacturing processes.

  • Patent number: 5588984
Abstract: Essentially pure nitrogen gas is produced from air and stored by an intermittent, automatic, and unattended process that is compact and self contained. Air is first filtered, compressed and enters a nitrogen module containing a permeable membrane that selectively separates nitrogen from the air and discharges oxygen and other gases. The nitrogen gas then flows into a vessel for storage. The apparatus is enclosed in a housing where automated temperature and pressure controls allows the permeable membrane to separate air components. A discharge hose allows use of the nitrogen product for a variety of intermittent applications including vending for inflation of tires, filling portable nitrogen vessels, and use in other processes needing intermittent and automatic manufacture of nitrogen gas.
