  • Patent number: 10324612
Abstract: An electronic device associated with a remote wand controlling the operations of the electronic device is provided. The wand may include a motion detection component operative to provide an output reflecting the motion of the wand to the electronic device, such that the movements of a cursor displayed by the electronic device may be related to the output of the motion detection component. The wand may also include an input mechanism operative to receive user inputs. Using the input mechanism, the wand may detect a user's inputs and direct the electronic device to zoom or scroll displayed objects. The electronic device may display a screen saver by which the user may select particular media items for playback while remaining in the screen saver mode. In some embodiments, the electronic device may display video with a scroll bar that includes a preview window of the video.

  • Publication number: 20190163319
Abstract: A device with a touch-sensitive display, a rotatable input mechanism, processors, and memory storing programs including instructions for receiving data from the external device representing user input received over a duration of time at the external device is disclosed. The programs may include instructions for determining whether the electronic device is actively executing an application for playback. The programs may further include instructions for in accordance with a determination that the electronic device is not actively executing an application for playback: displaying an indication of the receiving of the data; and displaying an affordance, wherein the affordance when selected launches the application for playback and causes the electronic device to playback the received data according to the duration of time of the user input.

  • Publication number: 20190155503
Abstract: The method for manipulating a cursor is performed at a portable multifunction device with one or more processors, memory, and a touch screen display. Initially, content of an electronic document is displayed on the display, where a cursor is displayed within the electronic document. Two substantially simultaneous touch inputs are then detected on the touch screen display, and preferably anywhere on the touch screen display. In response to detecting the two substantially simultaneous touch inputs, a portion of the content in the document closest to the cursor is selected, and the portion of the content is displayed as selected content.

  • Publication number: 20190146643
Abstract: An application launching user interface that includes a plurality of application icons for launching corresponding applications is displayed. A first touch input is detected on a first application icon of the plurality of application icons. The first application icon is for launching a first application that is associated with one or more corresponding quick actions. If the first touch input meets one or more application-launch criteria which require that the first touch input has ended without having met a first input threshold, the first application is launched in response to the first touch input. If the first touch input meets one or more quick-action-display criteria which require that the first touch input meets the first input threshold, one or more quick action objects associated with the first application are concurrently displayed along with the first application icon without launching the first application, in response to the first touch input.

  • Publication number: 20190139317
Abstract: A device can receive live video of a real-world, physical environment on a touch sensitive surface. One or more objects can be identified in the live video. An information layer can be generated related to the objects. In some implementations, the information layer can include annotations made by a user through the touch sensitive surface. The information layer and live video can be combined in a display of the device. Data can be received from one or more onboard sensors indicating that the device is in motion. The sensor data can be used to synchronize the live video and the information layer as the perspective of video camera view changes due to the motion. The live video and information layer can be shared with other devices over a communication link.

  • Patent number: 10284812
Abstract: An electronic device includes a display, one or more processors, and memory storing one or more programs configured to be executed by the one or more processors. The device can display a messaging user interface of a messaging application. The device can receive first data indicating that a live communication session that is available to three or more participants is active, and in response to receiving the first data, display a notification indicating that the live communication session is active. While displaying the notification indicating that the live communication session is active, the device can receive second data indicating that the live communication session between the three or more participants is no longer active. In response to receiving the second data, the device can cease to display the notification or update the notification to indicate that the live communication session is no longer active.

  • Patent number: 10254956
Abstract: The device displays a messaging user interface on a display, the messaging user interface including a conversation transcript, a plurality of electronic stickers, and a message-input area. While displaying the messaging user interface, the device detects a first user input while a focus selector is at a first location in the messaging user interface that corresponds to a first electronic sticker in the plurality of electronic stickers. In response, the device places and displays the first electronic sticker in the conversation transcript. While the first electronic sticker is displayed in the conversation transcript: the device detects a second user input while a focus selector is at a second location in the messaging user interface that corresponds to the first electronic sticker in the conversation transcript. In response, the device changes the position, size, and/or rotation of the first electronic sticker in the conversation transcript.

  • Patent number: 10235035
Abstract: An electronic device presents a first portion of structured content on a display. The structured content includes a plurality of sections and the first portion includes content from a first section of the plurality of sections. The device detects a contact on the touch-sensitive surface, detects an increase in a characteristic intensity of the contact, and detects a movement of the contact. In response to detecting the increase in the characteristic intensity of the contact and the movement of the contact: in accordance with a determination that the characteristic intensity of the contact increases above an intensity threshold, the device translates the structured content to display a start of a second section; and in accordance with a determination that the characteristic intensity of the contact does not increase above the intensity threshold, the device translates the structured content in accordance with a magnitude of the movement of the contact.

  • Patent number: 10209810
Abstract: A device with a touch-sensitive display, a rotatable input mechanism, processors, and memory storing programs for displaying, on the touch-sensitive display, a user interface comprising a plurality of objects each associated with a contact and an affordance representing a first contact is disclosed. The memory may include programs for, in response to receiving the first input, updating the visual appearance of the affordance to represent the second contact among the plurality of contacts, and the memory also may include programs for, after updating the visual appearance of the affordance, updating display of the affordance to an add contact affordance, where the add contact affordance was not displayed prior to detecting the second input corresponding to the selection of the object that is not associated with any contact. Further, the memory may include programs for displaying a user interface for adding a contact upon selection of the add contact affordance.

  • Publication number: 20190042078
Abstract: An electronic device with a touch-sensitive display detects an input on the touch-sensitive display, which includes detecting a contact on the touch-sensitive display while the touch-sensitive display is in a low power mode. In response to detecting the input on the touch-sensitive display while the touch-sensitive display is in the low-power mode, if the input meets display-activation criteria, the device displays a respective user interface on the touch-sensitive display, wherein the respective user interface was not displayed on the touch-sensitive display when the touch-sensitive display was in the low-power mode. And, if the input does not meet the display-activation criteria, the device maintains the touch-sensitive display in the low-power mode after detecting the input without displaying the respective user interface on the touch-sensitive display.
