  • Patent number: 11154804
Abstract: A water extractor for an environmental control system includes a primary duct having an inlet and an outlet, a scupper with a scupper inlet extending about the inlet of the primary duct, and a supply duct. The supply duct is in fluid communication with the primary duct and has a wall with an interior surface terminating at the scupper inlet. The interior surface defines one or more one swirl groove within the wall for gathering and conveying liquid water entrained in an airflow traversing the inlet duct to the scupper inlet. Environmental control systems, methods of making water extractors, and methods of removing water from air flows are also described.

  • Publication number: 20210102756
Abstract: A heat exchanger includes a core, a first manifold, and a second manifold. The first and second manifolds include a primary fluid channel extending between a fluid port and a first branched region, a plurality of secondary fluid channels fluidly connected to the primary fluid channel at the first branched region, and a first overlap region of the plurality of secondary fluid channels downstream of the first branched region and connected to the core. The plurality of secondary fluid channels are interleaved at the first overlap region such that a first layer of secondary fluid channels of the first manifold forms a first flow layer within the core, a first layer of secondary fluid channels of the second manifold forms a second flow layer within the core, and the first flow layer is adjacent and parallel to the second flow layer.

  • Publication number: 20190120414
Abstract: An additively manufactured duct assembly includes a noise reduction features, insulating features, and leak detection features. The duct assembly includes a first duct that defines a first duct first resonator and a second duct that is disposed about and is spaced apart from the first duct. The spacing apart of the second duct from the first duct provides an insulating air gap therebetween. The second duct may also be provided with a port to connect the duct assembly to a leakage detection system.

  • Publication number: 20130284954
Abstract: A high temperature servo valve to control a valve actuator for a valve body in a valve passage includes a plurality of high temperature wires to deliver a voltage; an actuator block of piezo ceramic material connected to the plurality of high temperature wires to move when it receives the voltage; a pressure supply line connecting the servo valve to the valve passage to supply air to the servo valve; a pressure vent line to vent pressure from the servo valve; and a pressure servo line connecting to the valve actuator to control the pressure in the valve actuator.

  • Patent number: 5800582
Abstract: A moisture collector for collecting moisture from moisture containing air exiting from an air conditioning system in substantially a first flow direction is disclosed. The collector including a moisture collector housing defining a volume. An inlet extends into the volume for receiving the moisture containing air from the air conditioning system while substantially moving in the first flow direction. An outlet extends out of the volume for exhausting substantially moisture free air. A device for redirecting the moisture containing air is positioned within the volume and upstream of the outlet. At the device, moisture is removed from the moisture containing air for forming the substantially moisture free air. An air passageway is defined in the volume for directing the substantially moisture free air from the device for redirecting toward the outlet along with the moisture. A volume for collecting the moisture is provided.
