  • Patent number: 11382159
Abstract: An emergency token for one-time, highly restricted, access to an arbitrary WiFi network, while maintaining full network security and integrity, is disclosed. When an IoT medical device (IMD) detects failure in the IMD, or detects the patient having a medical emergency, IMD detects local active WiFi networks, and attempts connecting to a monitoring center through one of the networks. If the network is password protected, the connection may fail. The IMD retries the connection request using factory-installed one-time use token that is only for emergency calls only. If successful, the IMD sends an emergency message to the monitoring center, which dispatches emergency responder to the location of the IMD. Monitoring center invalidates the token with the central on-line token registrar when both the IMD and the monitoring center acknowledges that the notification is successful. A person having the proper security authorization can install a new one-time use token.

  • Patent number: 10899344
Abstract: A method and system enabling a process for preventing a vehicular accident is provided. The method includes continuously monitoring vehicular impact conditions associated with a vehicle in motion. In response, an imminent impact event associated with the vehicle in motion and an external object is detected and a surface of a roadway below the vehicle in motion is scanned by sensors of the vehicle. Results of the scanning indicate that the roadway surface is safe for deployment of a destructive friction based braking mechanism of the vehicle. The destructive friction based braking mechanism is deployed with respect to a first braking force threshold and it is determined if rate of speed decrease exceeds a specified speed decrease threshold.

  • Patent number: 10602462
Abstract: Mitigating channel congestion, or crowding, that degrades the performance capabilities of a venue-provided access point, or hotspot, can include identifying, with a mobile communication device, the venue-provided access point. Additionally, mitigating channel congestion can also include establishing a mobile hotspot with the mobile communication device. The mobile communication device can establish the mobile hotspot on a channel different from a channel used by the venue-provided access point. Mitigating channel congestion can also include reducing a signal radius of the mobile communication device by reducing transmission power of the mobile communication device.

  • Patent number: 10547801
Abstract: Detection of an image obstruction is facilitated by, in part, obtaining multiple frames of an image being captured via an imaging device, and confirming movement of the imaging device between the multiple frames. The movement causes perspective shifting of the image between frames and the perspective shifting results in one or more objects of the image shifting between frames. The detection process determines whether an edge object within the multiple frames does not shift in a manner corresponding to the one or more objects between the multiple frames, and based, at least in part, on determining that the edge object does not shift in the corresponding manner to the one or more objects, identifying the edge object as an image obstruction. Presence of the identified image obstruction is signaled to facilitate corrective action being taken.

  • Patent number: 10423714
Abstract: Some examples described are directed to operations performed by a processor of a computer system to receive text data corresponding to a piece of text (e.g., a text string) displayable via a display device. The processor can further perform operations to determine, based on evaluation of the text data using text-filtering logic, that a revision condition exists for at least a portion of the piece of text. The processor can further perform operations to, in response to determination that the revision condition exists, determine, for a display data set corresponding to the piece of text, to either not display the at least the portion of the piece of text or display a modified form of the at least the portion of the piece of text. The processor can further perform operations to, present, via the display device, a display (e.g., a graphical-user-interface object) corresponding to the display data set.
