  • Patent number: 6157399
Abstract: This invention relates to a color image recording apparatus, which once records an image on an intermediate sheet by means of a recording means, and then transcribe the recorded image on any desired recording sheet. Where, in the step of recording on the dye depositing layer of intermediate sheet, the color image is recorded for a length longer than that the sheet holding body can hold the intermediate sheet at one time by repeating the process cycle of multi color-recording with the intermediate sheet held sticking fast on the sheet holding body and releasing of the intermediate sheet from the tight holding; and then the dye depositing layer carrying the recorded image is transcribed on any desired recording sheet. In doing this way, snaking motion and slipping of the intermediate sheet are prevented, heat shrinkage of the intermediate sheet is curtailed to produce a quality color image having precise alignment of color positioning on any desired recording sheet.

  • Patent number: 4939547
Abstract: A multicolor electrophotography apparatus for forming a color image on a rotatable photosensitive device shaped cylindrically and arranged to hold on its circumferential surface an electrostatic image optically formed by an exposing device. The apparatus includes a plurality of developing devices movably provided along the circumference of the photosensitive device for developing a plurality of different-color toner images overlapping each other. Each of the developing devices is selectively driven to take a developing position and a non-developing position, each of the developing devices being closed to photosensitive devices up to the developing position and being separated therefrom up to the non-developing position. When the exposing device is in the non-operated state, at least one of the developing devices takes the developing position and the other developing devices take the non-developing positions.

  • Patent number: 4401998
Abstract: A plurality of magnetic styli are arranged in a row for effecting a line recording. A magnetic styli are magnetized by a magnet held in contact with these styli so that a magnetic fluid attaching to the styli is protruded from each stylus to form continuous wave-like protrusions along the row of the styli. The magnetic fluid protruded from the styli is to fly or migrate as a high voltage is applied selectively between the styli and a control electrode which opposes to the styli across the recording paper, due to a Coulomb force acting on the ends of the protrusions. In consequence, a recording is made by the magnetic fluid serving as an ink on the recording paper in accordance with a recording signal. A predetermined head or height differential is preserved between the magnet and an ink tank. The magnet and the ink tank are connected to each other by means of a pipe filled with the magnetic fluid. A slight gap is formed in the connection between the pipe and the magnet.
