Abstract: An image forming device having a paper feeding function for automatically feeding recording paper. The device is provided with a function in which a copying or printing operation is interrupted on a detection of exhaustion of the paper and in which the operation is resumed on a detection of presence of paper after paper replenishment. The device is also provided with another function in which the operation is resumed only when the replenished paper is detected to be of a size feasible for the interrupted operation.

Abstract: An electric apparatus for carrying out start-up control of a plurality of devices requiring start-up electric currents exceeding an amount of current required at ordinary states thereof. The apparatus has a power source, a signal generating circuit for generating a stable state signal when one or the plurality of the devices enter a stable state after start-up thereof and a control circuit for causing a next device to start in response to the output of the stable state signal to the previously started device or devices. One example of the signal generating circuit includes an electric current measuring circuit and judges that the device is at a stable state thereof when the electric current supplied to the device becomes lower than a predetermined value. The above construction temporarily prevents maximum start-up currents of the devices from being supplied from the power source to the respective devices and consequently reduces the electric load on the power source.

Abstract: An improved electrostatic image forming apparatus including a controller for controlling the supplied voltage on the grid electrode of the main charger which gives the charges on the photosensitive member. Voltage on the grid electrode is controlled so that the charged potential on the photosensitive member may be held virtually at zero potential after the completion of the image forming operation until the predetermined time.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a rotatable photosensitive member and is adpated to form an image on a paper by steps of charging the photosensitive member with a main charger, exposing to form an electrostatic latent image, developing the latent image with a toner, transferring the toner image to a paper with transferring charger. Furthermore the apparatus includes a sensor to detect the amount of the toner adhering to the photosensitive member or to the paper so as to detect a malfunction in the main charger or in the transferring charger.

Abstract: An electrostatic recording apparatus including a plurality of recording electrodes arranged at right angles to a transport direction of an electrostatic recording paper, a plurality of first recording electrodes disposed at the upstream side of the recording electrodes and each having a first face confronting the electrostatic recording paper, and a plurality of second recording electrodes disposed at the downstream side of the recording electrodes and each having a second face confronting the electrostatic recording paper. In the apparatus, the width of the first face, measured in the transport direction of the electrostatic recording paper, is smaller than that of the second face.

Abstract: An image information output apparatus which includes a circuit for setting conditions for a "0" or a "1" level in an X direction, a circuit for setting conditions for a "0" or a "1" level in a Y direction with respect to each of respective image units over an entire output image plane divided into an X-Y matrix configuration, a circuit for generating an output timing signal for each of the image units, an AND circuit for ANDing two signals so as to output conditional signals at every generation of the output timing signal for each of the image units, one conditional signal being related to the X direction condition setting and one conditional signal related to the Y direction condition setting, a circuit for storing image information, and a circuit for outputting the stored image information, one image unit by one image unit, for each "1" level output signal of the AND circuit.

Abstract: An improved image reading apparatus which is so arranged that, by providing marks shaded to a predetermined density or darkness for setting a required reading area on an image reading surface, the start mark and end mark are detected by a solid state image sensor for supplying image signals within the required reading range into memory unit based on results of the on detection so as to reduce the memory capacity of the memory unit.

Abstract: An automatic information retrieval device employing an information-containing film wound on reels housed in a cartridge, which retrieval device is provided with a servo system for driving one of the film reels by a servo-controlled motor and the other of the film reels by a one directional constant torque motor so as to apply proper tension to the film between the reels for rapid and accurate selection of a desired information frame of the film without disengagement of the film ends from the reels. The retrieval device further employs an information film having counting blip-marks, parity check marks and non-light transmitting portion for accurate positioning of the desired frame.
