  • Patent number: 4261659
Abstract: In the view-finder of a camera having a TTL type light meter connected to an integrating-type analog-to-digital converter through a repeatedly operated electronic switch, there are positioned fifteen light emitting diodes upon selection of an exposure value by the converter, to illuminate a corresponding indicium on a scale of 15 exposure values, such as shutter times. Since a photo-cell exposed to scene light is also positioned in the view-finder, when the brightness of a scene to be photographed is lowered to such an extent that the influence of light from the energized diode on the photo-cell is not negligible, then the decoder for the diode arrangement is controlled to defer initiation of actuation of the one of the diodes which presents the display of an exposure value derived in the preceding cycle of light metering operation pending transition from the light integrating to the analog-to-digital converting step in the following cycle.

  • Patent number: 4175842
Abstract: The present invention relates to an exposure control system for a camera with both priority modes in which the photographic information of either the shutter time or the aperture value and the photographic information including the measured value of the brightness of the object to be photographed are processed so as to obtain a proper exposure value. The system is characterized in that either an optional shutter time or an optional aperture value is set by a common set means, for example, a dial in such a manner that the output of the set means is put in the operation means so as to control the exposure amount. Further, the condition showing whether the value set by the common set means is the aperture value or the shutter value is clearly indicated.

  • Patent number: 4175848
Abstract: An apparatus for providing a digital display representative of photographic information which is visible in the viewfinder of a camera. Since the photographic information is comprised of a number of factors, a number of symbols or signs are displayed in association with the digital display so that the photographer can identify multidigit numbers displayed. The structure of the digital display is simplified by using an arrangement of connections between display and display driver which allows for further reduction in size of the camera.

  • Patent number: 4162839
Abstract: In the camera disclosed, depending upon whether the shutter preference or aperture preference mode is selected, a computer establishes a computed value on the basis of a preset value and other ambient conditions. A number of separate comparators compare the respective values to a single reference wave form and turn off respective gates when the analog voltages achieve predetermined relationships to the reference wave form. The gates passed pulses from a common source from the beginning of the reference wave form until the respective gates are shut off. The values are thus digitized and displayed within the camera.

  • Patent number: 4125832
Abstract: A conversion system for a camera of a type controlled through computation of digital information. The system converts a coded digital value into a digital value of another coding. The code which comprises a gray code representing an integer part of the value and a code pattern representing a decimal part of the value is converted in such a manner that: The integer part is converted into a binary code while the decimal part is converted into a code to which a weight of 1/2, 1/4 or 1/8 is applied. With such a method of conversion employed, values set at 1/3 increment or decrement steps such as ASA film sensitivity values are readily converted into binary codes to facilitate the computing operation of the camera.
