  • Patent number: 7466730
Abstract: A femtosecond laser with stabilized output, and a method for stabilizing the output of a femtosecond laser. The femtosecond laser comprises a regenerative amplifier, a photodetector, a control portion and a variable attenuator, wherein the variable attenuator is provided so as to be capable of controlling an output beam of the regenerative amplifier, the photodetector is provided between the regenerative amplifier and the variable attenuator, the photodetector detects an output beam of the regenerative amplifier and transmits the results of the detection to a power controller, and the power controller controls the variable attenuator depending on the a difference between a predetermined target value and the results.

  • Patent number: 6381962
Abstract: Exhaust gas is generated when various waste products are combusted. The generated exhaust gas is introduced into a heat exchanger to heat an intermediate gas such as air by heat exchange. The heated intermediate gas is then used to heat superheated steam, which is then supplied to a steam turbine coupled to a generator.

  • Patent number: 5715682
Abstract: A combined-cycle power generation system using waste matter as a fuel, which can be expected to improve in power generation efficiency without using an additional fuel. The system has a corrosive exhaust gas source (waste exhaust gas source) (1), a closed-cycle gas turbine (2), and a Kalina-cycle steam turbine (3). A ceramic heat exchanger (6) for the closed-cycle gas turbine (2) is disposed on a high-temperature side of the corrosive exhaust gas source (1). A heat exchanger (7) heats a mixed ammonia water fluid (11) for the Kalina-cycle steam turbine (3) by a high-temperature side exhaust gas from the closed-cycle gas turbine. A heat exchanger (9) evaporates a condensate of the mixed ammonia-water fluid (11) by heat remaining in the exhaust gas from the closed-cycle gas turbine. A heat exchanger (10) for the Kalina-cycle steam turbine is disposed on a low-temperature side of the corrosive exhaust gas source (1) to evaporate the mixed ammonia-water fluid (11) by heat remaining in the waste exhaust gas.

  • Patent number: 5321363
Abstract: A two-terminal circuit element measuring apparatus of the present invention is capable of distinguishing a loose connection between a DUT and the measuring apparatus from a high impedance in the DUT. The measuring apparatus is also capable of measuring the impedance of the DUT without altering the connections between the DUT and the measuring apparatus. The measuring apparatus applies both DC and AC current signals to the DUT so as to compensate any leakage current occurring within the three-wire cable connecting the DUT and the measuring apparatus. Because of the compensation, when both DC and AC current ammeters indicate substantially zero values, it is assured that a loose connection exists.
