Patent number: 7671829Abstract: A driving method for a color liquid crystal display which drives the color liquid crystal display based on a video red signal, a video green signal and a video blue signal by independently applying a gamma compensation to a clamped video red signal, a clamped video green signal and a clamped video blue signal in gamma compensating circuits in order to make suitable to a red transmittance characteristic, a green transmittance characteristic and a blue transmittance characteristic. With this operation, it is possible to carry out an optimal gamma compensation suitable to a characteristic of the color liquid crystal display and to remove a gradation batter occurring in a specific color.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2005Date of Patent: March 2, 2010Assignee: NEC LCD Technologies, Ltd.Inventors: Noriaki Sugawara, Kouichi Koga

Patent number: 6504523Abstract: An active-matrix LCD device drives the LCD panel by using a dot reversible driving technique. The switching between two sets of input signals or two resolution modes is conducted by applying a DC voltage between the pixel electrode and the common electrode in each pixel before restart of the image display of a switched signal. The DC voltage has the same polarity among the pixels in the pixel array to thereby reduce the flicker after the restart of the image display.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2000Date of Patent: January 7, 2003Assignee: NEC CorporationInventors: Noriaki Sugawara, Kimikazu Matsumoto, Kunimasa Itakura, Tatsuya Shiki, Toshikazu Shimizu, Shoichi Kuroha, Shinichi Nishida

Patent number: 5849408Abstract: When a hot-dip zinc plating layer, which contains Al, is applied on rimmed steel having an Si level of less than 0.05% by weight or less, by the two-stage plating method, appearance failure can be prevented by setting the plating conditions as follows: in a first zinc bath consisting of zinc of 99.7% purity or more or in a second zinc bath which consists of zinc with 99.7% purity by weight or more and 0.05% or less of Al at a temperature of from more than 460.degree. C. to 490.degree. C. and for a dipping time of from 1 minute to 1.5 minutes; and, in a second zinc bath consisting of zinc of 99.7% purity by weight and from 2 to 10% by weight or less of Al at a temperature of from 400.degree. C. to less than 430.degree. C. and for a dipping time of from 0.5 minute to 1.5 minutes. This plating condition provides a plating structure that the Zn, Fe and Al are present in the essentially entire portion of the plating layer.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 1996Date of Patent: December 15, 1998Assignee: Nippon Mining & Metals Co., Ltd.Inventor: Noriaki Sugawara
