  • Patent number: 7324700
Abstract: When an image inputted is displayed on the display, determined is an enhancing degree as a parameter for enhancing the sharpness of the input image by using at least one of information about a subject included in the input image and information about the display for displaying the input image. By using the enhancing degree determined, color distribution is controlled on a first principal component analysis axis obtained by analysis based on a principal component analysis in a color space. Furthermore, the texture of the subject is magnified in size and again mapped onto the subject. Due to this, the input image can be enhancement-processed to a well texture feeling easy to view.

  • Patent number: 7298917
Abstract: An image not subjected to color correction, gamma correction, MTF correction and others is used as an image to be subjected to Retinex image processing. Thus, a RAW image prepared only by converting an electric signal of a CCD image sensor by an A/D converter into a digital form is used as an image to be subjected to the Retinex processing. Predetermined gamma correction is performed after the Retinex processing. Thereby, Retinex algorithm substantially modeling functions of a retina and a cortex of a living body exhibits its original performance. The resolution of the original image is lowered, and processing is performed on an image thus produced to produce a blurred image. Then, the resolution of the blurred image is restored to the same resolution as that of the original image, and the Retinex processing is performed. Thereby, the Retinex processing can be performed without increasing memory consumption and extremely lowering an operation speed.

  • Patent number: 7203381
Abstract: An image feature analysis section performs image feature analysis of an input image to generate an image feature quantity independent from image coordinates. An image content densification section information densifies the image feature quantity to generate a densified image feature quantity. An image generation section generates, based on the densified image feature quantity, an image in which the information content of the input image is densified.

  • Publication number: 20060215933
Abstract: The imaging apparatus includes a light application unit that applies light to an object to be imaged, a first converging unit that converges diffuse reflection rays from the object to be imaged, a second converging unit that converges specular reflection rays from the object to be imaged, an image pickup unit that receives the rays converged by the first converging unit and by the second converging unit, and generates image signals corresponding to each rays, an image data generating unit that generates image data by combining first image signals corresponding to the rays converged by the first converging unit with second image signals corresponding to the rays converged by the second converging unit, and an image data output unit that outputs the image data generated by the image data generating unit.
