  • Patent number: 6011435
Abstract: A transmission-line loss equalizing circuit includes an equalizer, a gain control circuit for controlling the gain of the equalizer based upon the peak value of an equalized output, a slicer for slicing the equalized output and outputting a data pulse, a timing extraction pulse and an equalization control pulse, a DC feedback level detector for detecting a DC component of the equalized output and feeding the DC component back to the equalizer, and an attenuating circuit provided as an initial stage of the equalizer. A plurality of .sqroot.fAGC circuits constructing the equalizer are cascade-connected and constructed by a differential non-inverting amplifier.

  • Patent number: 5481564
Abstract: A digital adaptive equalizer equalizes received signals through digital filtering operations by changing filtering coefficients. It comprises a coefficient calculating unit for calculating the filtering coefficients by using one kind of parameters, such as distance, as an input to a function corresponding to the filtering coefficients and a filtering operation executing unit for executing digital filtering operations based on the filtering coefficients. A variable lag filter for adjusting the phase delay of received received signals is provided. A coefficient converting unit calculates a part or all of tap coefficients of the filter using at least one piece of timing control information.

  • Patent number: 5395562
Abstract: A sintered product based on mesocarbon microbeads is prepared by pressure-molding mesocarbon microbeads (MCMB) having an MSP (maximum solubility percent) value of 30 to 38% by volume whereby a body is formed, and sintering the body, wherein MSP represents the percentage volume reduction (volume %) determined by heating a given amount of an MCMB to 350.degree. C. under a pressure load of 10 kgf/cm.sup.2. The quality of a molded MCMB sintered product can be controlled by determining the percentage volume reduction (MSP) of an MCMB by heating it under a given pressure load in a predetermined space using the MSP value so found as an indicator.

  • Patent number: 4363977
Abstract: A device for discriminating between two values of a signal using DC offset compensation including an automatic gain control circuit, a peak detector circuit and a feedback path from the peak detector circuit to the input circuit of the automatic gain control circuit. The value of the feedback current is regulated so that the maximum value of one of the same polarity signals and the opposite polarity signal coincides with the minimum value of the other of the two signals.

  • Patent number: 4347617
Abstract: An asynchronous transmission system for binary-coded information is disclosed. According to this system, in a transmitting terminal (A), when successive data of the same code in a set of asynchronous data lasts for a predetermined period of time (T.sub.1), a refresh pulse, the polarity of which is opposite to that of the successive data, is added to a transmission signal. However, the addition of such a refresh pulse to the transmission signal is inhibited for a predetermined period of time (T.sub.2) to allow for a change of data. In a receiving terminal (B), a pulse, the width of which is larger or equal to a minimum period of data, and a pulse, the width of which is smaller than or equal to a pulse-width (T.sub.0) of a refresh pulse, can be discriminated and removed by a pulse-width discrimination circuit. As a result, the refresh pulse is not present in the output signal of the pulse-width discrimination circuit. Thus, the original asynchronous data is restored.

  • Patent number: 4064960
Abstract: Disclosed is a noise barrier which comprises a hollow-cell type block having as its principal components a perforated sound-absorbing plate opposed to the noise source and a sound-insulating plate disposed opposite said sound-absorbing plate and incorporating therebetween a sound-absorbing material, a free spacing plate disposed behind said block across an intervening free air layer and means for absorbing and damping sound energy (a vibration-repressing coupling). There is also disclosed a noise barrier having a plurality of adjacent hollow-cell type blocks provided jointly with a free spacing plate by the medium of a support column so as to cover the supporting face.

  • Patent number: 4042061
Abstract: A noise barrier having a large magnitude of transmission loss is disclosed which is formed of a cell-box-type noise barrier comprising (A) a hollow cell-type block having a perforated sound-absorbing plate disposed on the side confronting the source of noise and a sound-insulating plate disposed on the opposite side relative to said perforated sound-absorbing plate and incorporating therein a sound-absorbing material and (B) a free-spacing plate disposed opposite said sound-insulating plate across a space and held in position by the medium of an elastic member, with a free air layer intervening between said free-spacing plate and said sound-insulating plate. Also disclosed is a method for insulating noise by providing a free-spacing plate at a distance from a noise source in such a way as to create a free air layer.
