    Abstract: A sintered magnet production system using a press-less method capable of minimizing the distortion of a sintered magnet includes: a filling device for filling a container cavity with alloy powder for a sintered magnet; an orienting section for orienting the powder in the cavity by applying a magnetic field without applying a mechanical pressure to the powder; and a sintering section for sintering the powder oriented by the orienting section, by heating the powder without applying a mechanical pressure to the powder. The orienting section includes: an air-core coil; and two ferromagnetic members made of a ferromagnetic material arranged within the coil at respective open ends of the coil with a space for containing the container in between. The ferromagnetic members adjust the magnetic field within the coil toward a direction parallel to the axis of the coil, whereby distortion of a sintered magnet is minimized.

    Abstract: A method having a pulverizing process in which a lump of alloy of a material for a sintered magnet is pulverized by a method including a hydrogen pulverization method, filling process wherein a cavity is filled with alloy powder obtained by pulverizing process, an orienting process wherein alloy powder is magnetically oriented by applying magnetic field to alloy powder, and sintering process wherein alloy powder is sintered by heating it according to predetermined temperature history. In the sintering process, alloy powder is heated in inert-gas atmosphere at higher pressure than atmospheric pressure until temperature reaches predetermined pressurization maintenance temperature which is higher than hydrogen desorption temperature and equal to or lower than sintering temperature. By performing the heating treatment in a pressurized inert gas, hydrogen-gas molecules remaining in the alloy powder are prevented from suddenly desorbing from alloy powder, so that the cracking of the sintered magnets hardly occurs.

    Abstract: A magnetic disk apparatus comprises an actuator for swinging a magnetic head substantially in the radial direction of a magnetic disk. First and second magnetic bodies, which individually constitute magnetic circuits between the magnetic bodies and a permanent magnet of a VCM, are fixed to the rear end of the actuator. The first magnetic body is pulled by leakage flux from the permanent magnet to return the actuator to a parking position when the actuator is deviated from the parking position. The second magnetic body is caused by the leakage flux to act so as to return the actuator at least to a position in a range such that a tensile force acts on the first magnetic body when the actuator is moved overpassing that range.
