Abstract: A yoke support for a reciprocating member in portable paint spraying equipment having a slot in the housing perpendicular to an axis of reciprocation, and an extension on the reciprocating member and a removable support secured to the housing and aligned with the extension of the reciprocating member and carrying a bearing sized to receive the extension in sliding relationship such that the bearing supports the extension of the reciprocating member in alignment with the housing and the removable support allows installation and removal of the reciprocating member by providing clearance for the extension via the slot in the housing when the removable support is removed.

Abstract: An improved fluid section for piston type paint pumps having the piston made from unplated stainless steel and wherein the seal is a multiple lip type formed of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene and the seal further includes one or more U-shaped internal stainless steel springs.

Abstract: An improved quick-change fluid section for piston-type paint pumps having a mounting flange with keyhole shaped apertures at one end and a threaded fitting at the other end to couple a fluid section housing to driving means via a slide housing. The piston and slide are retained in reciprocable driving relationship via a transverse pin held in place by a circumferential spring received in a circumferential groove on the slide. The spring and pin are accessible via diametrically opposed apertures in the mounting flange. The fluid section housing is bifurcated and has sealing means which may be either a packing set of alternating elastomeric and leather V-rings or lip-type seals. The sealing means is immediately available upon separation of the two portions of the fluid section and may be removed without the need for special tools. An inline or right angle inlet or suction fitting may be utilized with the fluid section.

Abstract: A combined packing nut and rod guide for piston paint pumps has a body with a central bore therethrough and at least one relief extending axially along the bore providing a lubricating passageway and paint leakage path. An annular reservoir is formed at an interior end of the nut body for lubricating fluid. The nut body has axial and radial surfaces to axially and radially position the combined packing nut and rod guide in the pump housing to locate and maintain the position of the piston rod with respect to the housing.

Abstract: A paint hopper assembly, capable of allowing a paint pump assembly with a suction tube located between two support legs to withdraw paint directly from the paint hopper assembly, has an elongated bin with a front portion capable of fitting between the support legs and a bottom surface which slopes toward the front portion, a hopper handle and a support including a plurality of wheels.

Abstract: A paint container retainer and convertible pump assembly cart for portable painting equipment. The retainer is adapted to support one of two differently sized paint containers in a generally upright position for providing a supply of paint for the sprayer. The paint container retainer also serves as a supporting foot and is interchangeable with a cart handle to convert the cart from a vertical to a horizontal orientation of the pump assembly.

Abstract: A convertible cart for a paint sprayer alternatively supports a sprayer pump assembly in either a horizontal or an upright position. When used in the upright position, the pump assembly is positioned for use with a smaller sized paint container, and the container can be securely moved about with the cart. When used in the horizontal position, the pump assembly is positioned for use with a larger sized paint container, and alternatively flexible suction and return hoses permit suction from larger paint containers.

Abstract: Single-piece manifold for use in pressurized painting equipment which is configured and arranged for joining a liquid inlet line, a pressure sensor, a filter, a pressure relief valve, and one or more liquid outlet lines by a streamlined network of passages in a compact and organized manner which eliminates static flow areas. The pressure sensor is assembled within the manifold in such manner as to avoid relative rotation between sensor components and thus avoid stressing electrical leads of the sensor.

Abstract: A mechanical pressure switch is provided which includes a conduit that is expandable and contractable in response to the pressure of fluid passing through the conduit. A switch is mounted in a fixed position relative to one portion of the conduit and an actuator is mounted in a fixed position relative to a second, spaced portion of the hose such that the switch will be mechanically activated and deactivated by movement of the actuator relative to the switch in response to pressure changes in the conduit. Preferably the relative positions of the actuator and switch are adjustable in the same direction as the expansion and contraction of the conduit.

Abstract: A pavement line striper is provided which has a pair of spaced apart front wheels and a pivotable rear steering wheel. Paint spray guns may be mounted closely adjacent to one or both of the front wheels. One of the front wheels is laterally movable to allow for the painting of parallel stripes of selectively variable spacing. Two guns may be mounted on one side for vertical and horizontal spraying of a curb in one pass or for closely spaced parallel lines. The guns remain closely adjacent the wheels to minimize uneven thickness of the lines when spraying on uneven terrain. The rear wheel is lockable against pivoting movement and indicia markings are provided to permit selection of a radius for curved lines.
