  • Patent number: 11442008
Abstract: The systems and methods include generating polarization-switched (PS) detector and reference signals using a polarization switch controlled by a digital control signal generated by digital input/output card. A gain adjustment is performed on the PS detector and reference signals to define gain-adjusted detector and reference signals. The digital control signal is used to synchronize the gain-adjusted PS detector and reference signals to define gain-adjusted synchronized PS detector and reference signals each having respective steady-state portions. The steady state portions are used to define a measurement signal. The measurement signal is then used to calculate a stress-based characteristic of the sample being measured. The sample can be moved continuously or discretely through different measurement positions, which are synchronized with the operation of the polarization switch using the digital control signal.

  • Patent number: 10896601
Abstract: A system and method for traffic violation detection using a mobile vehick-mounted unit (20) with multiple imaging cameras (32-37), for recording and processing as evidence. Tire-mobile unit (20) includes a monitoring device (60) that stores videos locally on a hard drive (6:2), and an input, device (65) by which the operator flags potential, infractions observed visually and compile a potential infraction log including links to relevant video frames, date and time, and geolocation. At the end of the operator's shift, the infraction log and videos are uploaded to a data vault (80) for video screening of the potential infractions by a desk operator who compiles a listing of apparent infractions inclusive of time/date, location, violation type, vehicle plates, and a URL link to the data vault (SO), This listing is transmitted to police (52) running a web application (53) who can double-check and verify suspected infractions and directly compose a traffic citation.

  • Patent number: 10800511
Abstract: An end seal device for a high-lift device on an airfoil leading edge of an airfoil includes an end seal body configured to be coupled to the airfoil and having a seal body spanwise portion and a seal end. The end seal body is configured to be in a seal extended position when the high-lift device is in a device extended position. The seal body spanwise portion is disposed adjacent to the aircraft body or the airfoil leading edge and the seal end is disposed adjacent to a device end of the high-lift device when the end seal body is in the seal extended position and the high-lift device is in the device extended position. The end seal body in the seal extended position fills a discontinuity otherwise occurring between the device end and the aircraft body or airfoil leading edge if the end seal body were omitted.

  • Patent number: 8854623
Abstract: Systems and methods for measuring a profile of a glass sample (300) are disclosed. The method includes scanning a polarization-switched light beam (112PS) through the glass sample and a reference block (320) for different depths into the glass sample to define a transmitted polarization-switched light beam. The method also includes measuring an amount of power in the polarization-switched light beam to form a polarization-switched reference signal (SR), and detecting the transmitted polarization-switched light beam to form a polarization-switched detector signal (SD). The method further includes dividing the polarization-switched detector signal by the polarization-switched reference signal to define a normalized polarization-switched detector signal (SN). Processing the normalized polarization-switched detector signal determines the profile characteristic.
