Abstract: An anchor pin for securing an artificial tooth or dental prosthesis to the bone of a patient, having a plurality of cutting flutes disposed about the periphery of a top portion of the pin. The cutting flutes have a substantially right-angled cutting surface perpendicular to the direction of rotation of pin when inserted into the patient's bone, which shaves bone fragments from the bone to allow countersinking of the top portion of the pin within the patient's bone, and which also create and direct such bone fragments to strategic areas of the pin to assist in bone growth around the anchor pin which will prevent removal and loosening of the pin from the bone.
