  • Patent number: 6966520
Abstract: A rope or line tensioning and/or coupling apparatus for tensioning a rope or coupling two ropes that is formed from a planar member having judiciously located slots and a drilled hole that allows the rope to be inserted into the drilled hole, looped with a knot for passing the loop through a slot formed intermediate the side edges of the apparatus and opposing slots at the top for securing the loop portions and a series of slots at the bottom for helically winding the rope or line by inserting opposite disposed slots.

  • Patent number: 6361255
Abstract: A self feeding drill bit for making a smooth bore in a workpiece has a spiral land and flute with a leading end carrying a centered lead screw. The leading end of the bit has a cutter extending from said lead screw to the circumference of the bit. Diametrically opposed to the cutter is an inscriber formed as a curved blade by the periphery of the leading land. In use, the inscriber makes a smooth surfaced cut in the workpiece with the cutter removing the remainder of the workpiece within the scribed cut.

  • Patent number: 5975813
Abstract: A wood drill and method for is manufacture are disclosed. A drill body has a single spiral land and a holding shank. The top of the web has an axial hole receiving a projection from a separate lead screw and the top of the spiral land has a notch for receiving a carbide cutting insert. The replaceable lead screw and carbide cutting insert are fixed to the drill body and the inserts and lands are ground to provide the proper hole sizing tips and cutting surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4625593
Abstract: A wood drill and method for its manufacture are disclosed. A drill body has an axial web with spiral lands and a holding shank. The top of the web has an axial hole receiving a projection from a separate lead screw and the top of each spiral land has a recess receiving a carbide insert for cutting. The lead screw and carbide cutting inserts are fixed to the drill body and the inserts and lands are ground to provide the proper hole sizing tips and cutting surfaces. The elements are fixed so that they can be removed for repair; they are shown as being brazed. The spiral lands can be contoured to have a spiral groove located in one or more spiral surfaces inwardly from the outer end.

  • Patent number: 4143723
Abstract: A drill bit having a carbide tip brazed in the drill bit shank is disclosed for use in forming cylindrical holes in both concrete and steel by rotation about a central axis. The carbide tip has two side surfaces on opposite sides of said central axis. The top surfaces are connected by a substantially V-shaped notch which extends between the side surfaces and has its vertex off-center of the central axis to more effectively cut both concrete and steel.
