  • Patent number: 7532168
Abstract: A conductive metal frame attached to an upper case is electrically connected to hinge metal member. The hinge metal member is connected to a hinge metal member by a rotary shaft in a rotatable manner. The hinge metal member, a further hinge metal member, and the rotary shaft are made of conductive metal so that electric continuity is obtained at contact points thereamong. The further hinge metal member is connected to a matching circuit on a circuit board via a feedpoint terminal. A conductor element is connected to a ground pattern of the circuit board at a position close to a point at which the matching circuit is grounded. The structure as described above provides a folding portable wireless unit that can secure a high antenna performance in a calling state and a waiting state.

  • Patent number: 6208837
Abstract: The result of detection performed by a receiving electric-field level detection circuit 8 and the result of detection performed by an automatic gain setting circuit 9 are fed back to a timing signal generation circuit 10 which controls a pre-heat time of a selective calling/receiving device. As a result, the pre-heat time can be changed according to the state of propagation of radio waves, and hence the life of battery of the calling/receiving device can be increased.

  • Patent number: 6070062
Abstract: A mobile radio wave receiver including an automatic gain control amplifier, an electric field intensity detection circuit, an error correction circuit, and an error correction error detection circuit is disclosed. The automatic gain controlling is selectively effected in accordance with the detected electric field intensity and a degree of the detected error correction errors. The mobile radio wave receiver further includes a bandpass filter with a first variable bandwidth and a waveform shaping circuit with a second variable bandwidth, wherein the first and second variable bandwidths are controlled in accordance with the detected electric field intensity and the degree of the error correction errors.
