  • Patent number: 8678475
Abstract: A motor vehicle (1) has a rear air guiding device (2) and a mechanism (3) for receiving and fastening the air guiding device (2). The mechanism (3) has a pin (6) in one end region for hooking-in at a socket (14) in the air guiding device (2). Thus the air guiding device (2) can be pivoted relative to the mechanism (3). A connector (18) connects the air guiding device (2) and the mechanism (3) at a position spaced from the pin (6) and the socket (14). An adjustable spacer (8, 10) is between the air guiding device (2) and the mechanism (3) near the connector (18).

  • Patent number: 8215703
Abstract: An air guiding device (8) is mounted in the rear end (2) of a passenger motor vehicle (1) and a setting-out mechanism (7) is connected to the underside of the air guiding device (8) for moving the air-guiding device (8). A collar (14) with a streamlined profile extends from the air guiding device (8) and surrounds the setting-out mechanism (7). Thus, the end of the setting-out mechanism (7) that faces toward the air guiding device (8) is concealed, and there is an optimum flow around the setting-out mechanism (7) in the region of the setting-out mechanism (7) when the air guiding device (8) is deployed.

  • Patent number: 8182028
Abstract: A vehicle body for a motor vehicle has a vehicle rear end with body inner side parts spaced apart from one another and delimiting an engine bay. An assembly support runs in the vehicle transverse direction between the two body-side side parts. The assembly support is formed as a light metal forged part. Weight-optimized stiffening of the vehicle rear end can be obtained in this way.

  • Patent number: 8113571
Abstract: A passenger motor vehicle has an air guiding device (8) mounted at a rear end of the vehicle and moveable relative to the rear end by a setting-out mechanism (7). A mounting element (11) connects the setting-out mechanism (7) at a downwardly open depression (12) at an underside region of the air guiding device (8). The mounting element (11) is hooked into the air guiding device (8) in a first region (13), and is connected to the air guiding device (8) by a screw connection (21) in a second region (15). The design enables particularly simple, cheap and fast mounting of the setting-out mechanism in the air guiding device (8).

  • Patent number: 6015182
Abstract: A vehicle side door or hatchback structure incorporates at least one hydroformed component. In one configuration, a window frame, a door frame and a reinforcement member are press-fit together by pressurized fluid during a hydroforming process to join the frames and the reinforcement member together. In another configuration, a vehicle hatchback frame subassembly includes a one-piece hydroformed window frame with a central portion disposed between opposing end portions. Inner and outer panels are attached to each other and secured to the opposing end portions of the window frame. In yet another configuration, a vehicle door and window frame subassembly includes a hydroformed one-piece first door frame, a roll formed second door frame and a reinforcement member secured to the tubular one-piece first door frame. An outer front panel is attached to the reinforcement member by at least one mirror bracket.
