  • Publication number: 20230068052
Abstract: The present invention provides a novel method for the preparation of 18F-fluoride (18F) for use in radiofluorination reactions. The method of the invention finds use especially in the preparation of 18F-labelled positron emission tomography (PET) tracers. The method of the invention is particularly advantageous where bulk solutions are prepared and stored in prefilled vials rather than being freshly prepared on the day of synthesis. Also provided by the present invention is a radiofluorination reaction which comprises the method of the invention, as well as a cassette for use in carrying out the method of the invention and/or the radiofluorination method of the invention on an automated radiosynthesis apparatus.

  • Patent number: 9694092
Abstract: The present invention relates to stabilised 99mTc radiopharmaceutical compositions of the ligand tetrofosmin, which include an ascorbic acid or ascorbate radioprotectant, in the absence of an antimicrobial preservative. The invention also provides lyophilised kits suitable for the bulk preparation of multiple unit patient doses of 99mTc-tetrofosmin metal complexes. Also disclosed are unit doses of 99mTc-tetrofosmin, together with processes for preparing such unit doses from the lyophilised bulk vial.

  • Publication number: 20120229804
Abstract: Aluminum, boron and silicon were identified as potential leachables from borosilicate glassware and a silica based QMA during handling of aqueous 18F. The addition of only 0.4 ppm aluminum as AlCl3 in the eluent vial resulted in a strong reduction in the labeling yield of a model [18F]fluoride SN2 reaction (from 80 to 40% incorporation). The addition of boron as KBO2 and silicon as NaSiO3 did not result in any significant decrease in labeling yield. Interestingly, there was an interaction effect between AlCl3 and KBO2 in which the negative effect from AlCl3 on labeling yield was counteracted by KBO2. The present invention demonstrates that aluminum and boron from borosilicate glassware have a strong influence on the labeling yield in nucleophilic SN2 reactions with n.c.a [18F]fluoride.

  • Publication number: 20090311178
Abstract: Compounds of formula (I) in salt or zwitterionic form, wherein R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 have the meanings as indicated in the specification, are useful for treating conditions that are mediated by the muscarinic M3 receptor. Pharmaceutical compositions that contain the compounds and a process for preparing the compounds are also described.

  • Patent number: 7052672
Abstract: The present invention relates to stabilized 99mTc radiopharmaceutical compositions, which include both a radioprotectant and one or more antimicrobial preservative(s), and hence have an extended lifetime of use. The radioprotectant is ascorbic acid, para-aminobenzoic acid, gentisic acid or a salt thereof with a biocompatible cation, and the antimicrobial preservative is one or more compound from the paraben series of preservatives. The invention is particularly useful for cationic, lipophilic 99mTc heart imaging agents such as Myoviewâ„¢.
