    Abstract: An improved manual pump is disclosed. The manual pump comprises a pair of side plates (10), a flexible cylindrical wall (15), a pump chamber (21), an axial shaft (11), a coil spring (12) and a pair of handle bars (16) secured to the side plates (10). When the handle bars (16) are grabbed and clutched with a hand, the side walls (10) are turned in opposite directions, twisting the pump chamber (21) to discharge fluid. The coil spring (12) assists to restore the original shape of the pump chamber (21) to charge fluid.

    Abstract: A device for suspending a working cage includes an arm, a swivel arm mounted rotatably horizontally to the end portion of the arm, a first sheave mounted rotatably horizontally to the arm at a location behind the end portion to which the swivel arm is mounted, and a second sheave mounted rotatably horizontally to the swivel arm in front of the center of rotation of the swivel arm. The first and second sheaves have the same diameter and are formed with at least two vertically arranged wire rope engaging grooves. At least two wire ropes fed from a winding device and attached to a working cage through these sheaves cross each other between the first sheave and the second sheave. The distance between the center of rotation of the swivel arm and the center of rotation of the first sheave is determined to be equal to the distance between the center of rotation of the swivel arm and the center of rotation of the second sheave.

    Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning windowpanes of a building comprises a unit suspended from the roof of the building and being capable of ascending and descending along the building. An opening portion is formed in the front portion of the unit and a cleaning head is provided in this opening portion. The cleaning head can be adjusted in its position and can be accurately positioned against a windowpane to be cleaned by reducing a relative velocity of a scraper attached to the cleaning head to zero by ascending the cleaning head while the unit is descending. The scraper and a rotary disc for sprinkling water are secured to a movable member provided in the cleaning head. The scraper can not only approach and withdraw from the windowpane but also incline with respect to the windowpane. An air curtain is formed below the scraper so as to guide soiled water left after wiping of the windowpane by the scraper into a soiled water collection portion.
