  • Patent number: 5664974
Abstract: A male terminal and a method of manufacturing the male terminal is provided to improve a reliability of its connection with a female terminal. The male terminal includes a wire connection part, an electrical contact part having a base plate portion, a joint part for connecting the engagement part with the electrical contact part and an engagement part. In manufacturing, one lateral free marginal portion of the base plate portion is folded back toward the other lateral free marginal portion. A lower plate portion of the joint part extends from the base plate portion till the engagement portion and has a width larger than that of the base plate portion. The upper plate portion extends from the free marginal portion till the engagement portion and has a width larger than that of the free marginal portion. Owing the structure, the strength of the joint part can be maintained.

  • Patent number: 5554046
Abstract: A solderless terminal for interconnecting a terminal to a lead wire in which the terminal has superior mechanical strength to enable the plate material used in manufacturing the terminal to have a minimum thickness thus reducing the overall size and weight of the terminal. The solderless terminal includes an electrical contact portion engageable with a mating connecting terminal and a conductor connecting portion having at least two core-wire contact slots longitudinally spaced from each other. Each of the core-wire contact slots is defined by a pair of opposing conductor clamping blades adapted to cut an insulating cover of a lead wire and retain the conductor of the lead wire to thereby electrically connect the terminal to the conductor. The terminal also includes first and second constricted portions each having a cubic shape defined by a bottom plate and opposing side walls which are bent inwardly to form right and left reinforcing walls.

  • Patent number: 5511587
Abstract: A diamond-like carbon (DLC) film is formed on a portion of a reed blade in a high-speed loom which requires the highest wear resistance. When a stainless steel is used as the base material of the reed blade, the DLC film is formed through an intermediate layer comprising, e.g., a titanium carbide layer. Reed blades coated with a DLC film are arranged at the side portions of the reed where wear progresses quickly, while reed blades coated with hard films requiring a relatively low cost, or non-coated reed blades, are arranged in the central portion of the reed, thereby uniforming the blade wear throughout the entire reed. The reed is suitable to many types of fibers, ranging from natural to synthetic and new material fibers.

  • Patent number: 5427548
Abstract: The device attempts to facilitate the molding of a tapered guide surface without leaving sharp edges on the corner of the tapered guide surface in order to facilitate insertion of a terminal fitting into a terminal accommodating chamber of a connector housing. A support slit 5 for a terminal fitting is formed on a wall 3 of a terminal accommodating chamber 1 in a connector housing A. A tapered guide surface 6 is formed so as to be tapered toward the terminal accommodating chamber 1 on the wall 3 on both rear end sides of the support slit 5. On the tapered guide surface 6 are a tapered and chamfered surface 6a that is tapered toward the support slit 5 and a tapered and chamfered part 6b that is tapered toward the support slit 5 in the inner surface of the wall 3 so as to reach the tapered and chamfered part 6a.

  • Patent number: 5311317
Abstract: A video signal processing apparatus in which a video signal channel-selected and received by a tuner is supplied through a switch to a video output circuit and a signal from the video output circuit is supplied to a cathode ray tube (CRT), thereby being displayed on a picture screen of the CRT. Also, the video signal from the tuner is supplied to a video memory of one frame, for example, and an output of the video memory is supplied to the switch. Further, the video signal from the tuner is supplied to a non-signal detecting circuit and a control signal from the non-signal detecting circuit is supplied to the video memory and the switch. Then, when there is no video signal, the switch is changed in position to allow the signal stored in the video memory to be output. Therefore, a picture displayed in the absence of video signal can be stabilized.

  • Patent number: 4713276
Abstract: A paper-like product composed of staple fibers oriented substantially in a certain specific direction is provided, wherein the orientation degree of the constituent staple fibers, expressed by the following formula: ##EQU1## is at least 50%. A prepreg is formed by impregnating the paper-like product with a matrix resin. Composite prepregs are formed by laminating a plurality of such prepregs or such a prepreg with a prepreg composed of continuous filaments, in a manner such that the orientation directions of fibers in the prepregs intersect one another. The paper-like product is prepared by scattering a liquid dispersion of staple fibers in the horizontal direction by a centrifugal force, and collecting the scattered staple fibers in the form of a web on a collecting surface continuously moving in the vertical direction.
