    Abstract: An ultrasound imaging system includes a beam receiving circuit and a back-end circuit. The beam receiving circuit receives a plurality of digitized echo signals. The back-end circuit is coupled to the beam receiving circuit for outputting a plurality of compressed delay timing parameters corresponding to a plurality of channels to the beam receiving circuit. The beam receiving circuit decompresses the compressed delay timing parameters into a plurality of delay timing parameters, and processes the digitized echo signals into an ultrasound beamforming value according to the delay timing parameters corresponding to the channels. The back-end circuit synthesizes an ultrasound image according to the ultrasound beamforming value outputted from the beam receiving circuit.

    Abstract: A 2D/3D dual-mode image sensing circuitry is composed of a photodiode, an active sensing unit, and a pull-down unit. The photodiode is to detect and convert optical signals into electronic signals. The active sensing unit is electrically connected with one end of the photodiode for receiving electronic signals outputted by the photodiode, having an output. The pull-down unit is electrically connected with the output, providing a pull-down path. The pull-down unit has a pull-down control terminal, by which the pull-down unit can be externally controllably switched on/off, for sinking the potential or not to the aforesaid end of the photodiode. In this way, as the 2D mode is switched on, the 3D mode is switched off; on the other hand, as the 3D mode is switched on, the 2D mode is switched off.

The analog-to-digital converter is used to convert the physical signal into a plurality of data points. The slope calculator is used to calculate slope of each data point. The local extrema identifier is used to identify a plurality of local extrema of the slopes. The residual signal constructor is used to construct a residual signal of the physical signal from the data points corresponding to the local extrema of slopes. An IMF extractor is used to extract an intrinsic mode function indicative of an intrinsic oscillatory mode in the physical phenomenon by subtracting the residual signal from the physical signal. A method for analyzing a physical signal representing a physical phenomenon is provided.

    Abstract: A method for reducing memory size and amount of data accessed of a buffered-frame storage device in a video codec is provided. It is applicable to a codec compliant with a video encoding and decoding standard. When a block is decompressed, the block is stored in the buffered-frame storage device using either compression data or reconstructed data based on its encoded mode and the positions of its reference frames, or based on a topological pattern and a pre-determined memory capacity constraint. With this method, not only the memory size of the buffered-frame storage device, but also the computational complexity requirement for decoding compression data of reference frames is reduced. The present invention compromises among the buffered-frame memory size, amount of data accessed, and computational complexity requirement.

    Abstract: A wideband planar dipole antenna comprises a substrate and two antenna bodies. Metal conductor is printed on the single surface/double surfaces of the substrate to form the antenna bodies. With a dipole antenna architecture, the antenna bodies are manufactured as loop structures similar to concentric circles. The loop structures can be of rectangular or circular shapes. Loops of metal conductors with different lengths resonate to obtain similar but different frequencies. Each path of every antenna body can be finally connected with a metal conductor sheet capable of changing to any shape. Every path can interfere with adjacent paths to achieve the wideband effect. An asymmetric mechanism can be added in one of the antenna bodies. Besides letting the antenna have the resonance effect of the symmetric part, the loop path at the signal source can also be increased to enhance the receiving performance of the antenna.

Thus, when proceeding with the variable length decodings, the multiplexer has only to select the correct reordered index value from among a plurality of reordered index values as based on the previous decoding results, and then find out the corresponding remapping index value and compensation value, thus searching and obtaining the corresponding reordered index output result in the reordered index decoding LUT through utilizing the remapping index value, hereby obtaining the output result through proceeding with the operations required by making use of the compensation value.
