  • Patent number: 5466037
Abstract: A panel of glass or other transparent sheet material for use as a transparent sun roof for automobiles has a double-glazed structure formed by two sheets and a gap therebetween. A sealing bead holds the sheets together at a desired distance from each other. The holes through which the elements for fixing the sun roof to the roof of the vehicle extend are provided in only one of the sheets and to the outside of the gap between the sheets.

  • Patent number: 5302333
Abstract: The starting end and the finishing end of a seam extruded onto a sheet of glass, for example a windshield of an automobile, are joined to complete an edge gasket. A separate supplementary mold receives part of the glass containing the ends of the seam, and a compatible polymerizable composition is poured into the mold to complete the gasket.

  • Patent number: 4527164
Abstract: A multiband aerial, especially suitable for a motor vehicle window, or for application to the window, which comprises a single conductor wire which starts from a signal pickup position, terminating in just the one free end, and which includes the FM aerial section and the AM aerial section, with such sections being connected in series, and therefore not requiring phasing, and being electrically isolated by means of an inductor, preferably of box rib pattern, which inductor can function as an open circuit in the FM band and as a short circuit in the AM band. The series of vertical and horizontal segments, forming the sole aerial conductor wire which contains in series such FM section and AM section, can be of variable, but always asymmetrical, geometry or configuration.

  • Patent number: 4283440
Abstract: In a process for the production of thermal pane of the type having an electrically conductive circuit on a glass pane, a plurality of electrically conductive inks are produced, each of which has different resistivity. On at least one side of the glass pane a continuous circuit having a constant section along its length is formed by layering each of the inks along the length of the circuit at predetermined locations so that the resistivity of the circuit changes along the length thereof.

  • Patent number: 4137557
Abstract: A device for cutting out non-essential loads in a generator and battery-fed electric plant includes a voltage detecting unit connected across the terminals of the battery. The detecting unit may be a relay. Whenever the voltage at the terminals falls below a predetermined level, the detecting unit effects the disconnection of the non-essential load or loads from the terminals of the battery and generator, while allowing the essential load or loads. The detecting unit preferably includes a differential amplifier having one of its inputs connected to a voltage divider connected in parallel with the battery and its second input coupled to a source of reference potential.

  • Patent number: 4132881
Abstract: The glass pane of a vehicle window is provided on the surface of its central viewing area with a plurality of spaced, parallel linear heating resistors. First and second buses, disposed laterally of the central viewing area, extend transversely of the resistors and supply electric power thereto. A pair of moisture sensing, electrically conductive probes are provided on the pane at widely spaced zones away from the central viewing area. Each probe includes a first portion coextensive in length with a resistor and running parallel thereto. At least one of the probes has a second portion running parallel to one of the buses.

  • Patent number: 4048469
Abstract: The glass pane of a vehicle window is provided on the surface of its central viewing area with a plurality of spaced, parallel linear heating resistors. First and second buses, disposed laterally of the central viewing area, extend transversely of the resistors and supply electric power to the resistors. A miniature transistorized control circuit mounted at a corner of the pane away from the central viewing area controls the supply of power to the buses. A plurality of moisture sensing, electrically conductive probes are provided on the pane at widely spaced zones and are connected to the input terminal means of the control circuit. Each probe includes a first portion coextensive in length with a resistor and running parallel thereto. One of the probes has a second portion parallel to and closely spaced from one of the buses. The control circuit responds to detection of fogging of the pane by anyone of the probes.
