  • Patent number: 9225847
Abstract: A method and corresponding equipment to enable a phone owner, who desires to lend a phone to a borrower, to define a temporary limit for the usage of the borrower, especially in a prepaid charging system. The charging system uses this temporary limit to restrict service usage such that when an amount corresponding to the temporary limit has been spent service is denied until such time as the limit has expired or been withdrawn, even if, for example, there is still a positive balance in the phone owner's own prepaid account.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 10, 2006
Date of Patent: December 29, 2015
    Assignee: Nokia Technologies Oy
Inventors: Andrew Daymond, Uwe Schwarz, Jens Benner, Ossi Pöllänen, Jan Chipchase

  • Patent number: 6677819
Abstract: A power amplifier unit for a transmitter in a mobile communication system is set up so that the operational point of the power amplifier varies in dependence on the instant power level of its input signal. This is used in the context of a variable envelope input signal such that a constant gain of the power amplifier can be achieved by this feedback.

  • Patent number: 6509888
Abstract: A pointing device that comprises a movable pointing element and a detector. The pointing element affects a magnetic field the changes of which are detected by the detector and adapted so as to point out information. The detector that produces a detection signal on the basis of which the movement of the pointing element is sensed and utilized to point out information on a display. The movable pointing element and the detector comprises means for generating a magnetic field and for detecting a magnetic field. The pointing element includes a plurality of magnetic elements placed on a perimeter of the pointing element.

  • Patent number: 6289205
Abstract: A transmitter (2) for communication devices according to the invention comprises a high-frequency power amplifier for amplifying the high-frequency signal to be transmitted, which high-frequency power amplifier includes an output stage for giving an amplified high-frequency signal, and measuring devices for measuring the power (Pdc) of the high-frequency signal. The measuring devices comprise devices (A1, RECT1, INT1, A2, RECT2, INT2) for measuring the voltage (VCE) and current (IE) of the high-frequency signal in said output stage, and means (M1, INT3) for calculating the power of the high-frequency signal on the basis of the measured high-frequency voltage (Vmeas) and high-frequency current (Imeas). A mobile station (1) according to the invention has a transmitter (2) for transmitting signals, which transmitter (2) includes a high-frequency power amplifier for amplifying the high-frequency signal to be transmitted.

  • Patent number: 5621367
Abstract: The invention relates to a coaxial resonator comprising an inner conductor (12) with walls defining therebetween a free space (24), and a housing portion (13) surrounding the inner conductor (12) and forming an outer conductor of the resonator. In order that connection to the inner conductor could be made very simply, the inner conductor (12) is made of sheet material in which slits (21; 33) extending in the direction of the inner conductor are made so that they form between them a tongue-like connecting part (22; 34) having its free end connected to a printed circuit board (11).
