  • Patent number: 7011236
Abstract: An assembly for securing and sealing a dispenser to a container having a flange surrounding an opening therein is provided. The assembly includes a dispenser sub-assembly having an outer body with an outer surface adapted to engage an inner surface of the opening so as to secure and seal the dispenser sub-assembly within the opening. A retaining collet having a downwardly extending skirt having a bottom portion extending radially outwardly is positioned to surround the flange. A decorative collar having a sleeve about its periphery is slideable through a path of movement over the retaining collet to an assembled position. The sleeve of the decorative collar deforms the bottom portion of the skirt of the retaining collet radially inwardly to a position under the flange of the container as the decorative collar is slid to the assembled position so as to maintain the decorative collar in the assembled position.

  • Patent number: 6253941
Abstract: An assembly for securing and sealing a dispenser to a flanged container is provided. The assembly includes a sealing collet formed from a resilient deformable molded polymeric material. The sealing collet has an outer surface having an outer diameter, and also has a continuous downwardly extending skirt having a bottom portion thereof extending radially outwardly. The assembly also includes a retaining collar formed from a substantially rigid material, which has a sleeve about its periphery having an inner surface with a diameter sized to encase the skirt of the sealing collet. The retaining collar is slideable through a path of movement over the sealing collet to an assembled position. The sleeve deforms the bottom portion of the skirt radially inwardly to a position under the flange as the retaining collar is slid to the assembled position in order to maintain the sealing collet and the retaining collar in the assembled position and to maintain the seal between the sealing collet and the flange.

  • Patent number: 6036059
Abstract: A smooth actuating, non-throttling dispensing pump with a low force to actuate is provided. The pump will dispense a fluid at a pressure and flow velocity sufficient to allow the fluid to exit through the actuator in a fine particle spray. This action occurs when the actuator, depressed by the finger, moves a displacement piston downward pressurizing the fluid in the fluid chamber. When a predetermined pressure is reached, seals between the piston and stem open permitting the pressurized fluid to exit the fluid chamber through the actuator. The relationship of the frictional and spring forces plus the pressure acting on the piston and stem determines when and how the fluid is dispensed.

  • Patent number: 5108013
Abstract: A sealing assembly for use in a liquid dispensing device having means for dispensing liquid from a container as disclosed. The container has a radially protruding flange with a generally vertical sidewall. The assembly comprises a sealing collar having a resilient deformable body having a central aperture for receiving the dispensing means, such as a pump. The body includes in its periphery a circular sealing ring having an annular outer sidewall which includes a wedge-shaped tapered sealing member. The tapered surface has a diameter progressively increasing over a range which encompasses the sidewall diameter when the sealing member is mounted on the flange, the tapered surface is driven into contact with the bottle flange sidewall to provide a liquid and airtight seal between the tapered flange and the container flange. A mounting cup have a central aperture for receiving the dispensing means, forces the tapered surface into contact with the container flange.
