  • Patent number: 7685798
Abstract: A method and a relative unit (1) for producing blister packs (7) by cutting a blister band (4), according to which a band (4) with blisters (2) housing products is fed in a selected feeding direction (A), through subsequent stations: a band (4) verifying station, a closing station where the blister band is closed with a covering band, and to a cutting station (5) for cutting the closed blister band (4). In the cutting station (5), the closed blister band (4) is cut by progressive shearing, to obtain relative blister packs (7) detached from at least one strip (9a, 9b) or scrap longitudinal edge of the blister band (4). If portions of the blister band (4) considered unsatisfactory are detected in the control station, the subsequent shearing is performed partially or incompletely, so as to prevent detachment of the corresponding blister packs (8), considered faulty and destined to be rejected, from the strip (9a, 9b) of the band (4).

  • Patent number: 6499273
Abstract: An improved machine (1) for making filter bags (2) containing a product for infusion, with a pick-up tag (3) connected to the top (12) of the filter bag (2) by an intermediate thread (5), comprises a wheel (6) which rotates with a stepping motion about its own axis of rotation (16) and is equipped with grippers (7) which are brought into contact with a series of operating stations, comprising at least one station (9) for folding a tubular semi-finished product (20) containing the product for infusion, and at least one station (15) for knotting the thread (5). The machine (1) has thread (5) feed means (33, 34, 35) which operate on the thread (5) fed between consecutive pairs of the grippers (7) along the edge of the wheel (6) so as to prevent it from sliding backwards. The thread (5) knotting station (15) is equipped with needles (45) which have a first and second eye (51, 52) positioned at different distances from the point.

  • Patent number: 6386643
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to bicycles, and more particularly to front wheel hub assemblies for bicycles and motorcycles. Specifically, the present invention provides a novel wheel hub assembly for connecting a wheel rim to the front fork of a bicycle or motorcycle, with this same wheel hub assembly comprising an oversized single member hub-axle assembly for attachment to a fork dropout having an enlarged opening. The wheel hub assembly according to the present invention comprises an axle (or axles), a bearing assembly, a hub having flanges for connection to the wheel rim (e.g., via spokes), and a quick release clamping mechanism for securing the wheel hub assembly to the front forks of the bicycle. Additionally, the present invention provides a wheel hub assembly having an axle with an increased diameter and a dropout with an increased size at the axle/dropout interface in order to yield a more rigid interface between the wheel and fork, and provides a more stable bicycle.

  • Patent number: 6206256
Abstract: An improved needle (1) to attach a filter bag (2) containing a product for infusion to a pick-up tag (3) using a thread (4) knotted at least at one of its end sections (5; 6) comprises two eyes (7, 8) located at different distances from the point (9) of the needle (1). The first eye (7) is designed to hook the thread (4), stretched and retained at the end sections (5, 6) and to make a loop (10) in the thread when the needle (1) is pulled in the direction of its axis (1a). The second eye (8), on the other hand, is located closer to the point (9) and is oriented at right angles to the first eye (7) so that it can be surrounded by the loop (10) and can guide an end section (5; 6) of the thread (4) across the loop (10) to make a knot. The needle (1) also comprises two lengthways grooves (11) that connect the first eye (7) to the second eye (8) and that are especially shaped to accommodate the loop (10) and to keep it in position while the knot is being formed.

  • Patent number: 6044940
Abstract: A shock absorber comprises a sliding tube sealed at one end which is provided with an attachment for one of the two parts of the vehicle which needs cushioning and a stem presenting at one end another attachment for the other of the two parts of the vehicle and at the other end a piston engaged within the sliding tube to make a sliding side seal with the tube. The piston is equipped with valve means controlling the flow of a liquid between first and second pressure chambers formed within the sliding tube by the opposed faces of the piston. The first pressure chamber is traversed by the stem. The stem is provided with a longitudinal duct which through radial ports is communicating with the first chamber and which communicates with the second chamber through a sized end hole with which the tip of the needle of a variable throttle cooperates.

  • Patent number: 5509257
Abstract: The packaging machine comprises a feeding line equipped with belt conveyors for conveying flat folded blanks withdrawn thereby from a magazine. An erecting station, situated downstream of the withdrawing station, is provided with a rotating head featuring gripping means with suction cups aimed at cooperating with second suction cups to open adjacent edges of the blanks. Upper runs of belt conveyors of a packaging line situated below the feeding line, are designed to cooperate with the lower run of the conveyor so as to hold the cases obtained from the blanks. Pushers are located at the side of a feeding line placed at the side of the packaging line for feeding the articles, and are operated axially in order to introduce the articles into the cases. Means are provided for adjustment in accordance with the height of the cases, and move vertically a group comprising the feeding line.
