Abstract: The present invention is an interactive reversible apron and is used to amuse and entertain a baby with an assortment of interactive items and mobile media devices. The assortment of interactive items includes but is not limited to objects such as baby toys, a pacifier, and finger puppets. The mobile media devices can include objects such as a smart phone and a tablet personal computer. The assortment of interactive items and the mobile media devices held in place and support on the user's chest by the present invention. The user puts the present invention on, sits down, and places the baby on the lap so that the baby can access the assortment of interactive items and the mobile media devices. While the baby is sitting on the user's lap, the present invention prevents both the user and the baby from getting restless and allows the user to develop a personal connection with the baby.

  • Publication number: 20060049652
Abstract: An automobile alcove designed for installation on a rear lift gate of an automobile includes a top panel whose leading edge is coupled to the automobile. The top panel deploys over the opened lift gate and a rear panel coupled thereto extends downwardly to a location near the ground. Left and right side panels are deployed to complete the enclosure. The left and right side panels are coupled to the top panel using a convenient mechanism, such as a zipper. One or both of the side panels includes a closure mechanism, such as a zipper, to allow entry and exit from the interior portion of the alcove. The top panel may be mechanically or magnetically coupled to the automobile at a leading edge. Edges of the left and right side panels adjacent to the automobile may also be magnetically or mechanically coupled to the automobile to secure the alcove. Fasteners, such as magnets or Velcro aid in the installation and/or removal of the alcove.

  • Publication number: 20060037060
Abstract: Providing a program guide for digital and analog broadcast television channels specific to a geographic region. A computing device sends a program guide request including a geographic identifier to another computing device. In response, the other computing device filters a master program guide as a function of the geographic identifier to create the requested program guide. The created program guide includes a call sign, physical channel, major channel, and content listing for each of the digital broadcast television channels. In one embodiment, the digital broadcast television channels conform the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) standard.

  • Publication number: 20060037046
Abstract: Providing content listings for digital television broadcasts. A computing device matches digital broadcast television channel data (e.g., call signs or broadcast frequencies) with analog broadcast television channel data to create a list of mapped channels. The computing device creates a program guide for the digital broadcast television channels as a function of the matched channel data by associating program listings for the analog channels with the digital channels. The created program guide covering both digital and analog television channels is stored in a database for subsequent processing responsive, for example, to a user request. In one embodiment, the digital broadcast television channels conform the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) standard.

  • Patent number: 5560017
Abstract: In a portable computer the BIOS software slows the system clock frequency during idle periods. The BIOS software returns the system to its normal operating frequency when an awaited event such as a keystroke occurs. In the event of an interrupt while the system clock is at the lower frequency, a hardware clock control circuit responds to the interrupt to promptly increase the system clock frequency to the normal value. By decoding the old frequency, new frequency and the several available frequencies, the change in frequency is timed to maintain proper phase and duty cycle without interruption.

  • Patent number: 5491495
Abstract: A computer system hating a digitizing tablet overlaying the display screen. The tablet serves as a user's primary input device. Various features of the system make it possible for the user to run and interact with standard programs designed for keystroke and mouse input and not designed for use with a tablet. In addition to the main processor, on which the user's programs are executed, there is an interface processor. In addition to a standard display buffer, there is an ink plane buffer for interface display data that is combined with the data from the standard display buffer on a pixel-by-pixel basis according to data from a mask plane buffer. The interface processor manages input from the tablet, presents feedback to the user by means of the ink and mask planes, and provides keystroke and mouse data to the main processor as if from a standard keyboard controller. The interface processor presents the user with a collection of simulated devices, including standard devices such as a keyboard and a mouse.

  • Patent number: 5151999
Abstract: A serial communications controller, adapted for transfer of data to memory in a direct memory access interrupt, generates a status word for each frame of data. To allow for uninterrupted transfer of data to memory from frame to frame, the status words are stored in a FIFO along with word counts corresponding to the frames to allow for subsequent identification of the addresses to which the data frames are assigned.

  • Patent number: 4942515
Abstract: A single chip serial communications controller, adapted for transfer of data to memory in a direct memory access interrupt, generates a status word for each frame of data. To allow for uninterrupted transfer of data to memory from frame to frame, the status words are stored in a FIFO along with word counts corresponding to the frames to allow for subsequent identification of the addresses to which the data frames are assigned. The FIFO is incremented at the end of each frame and decremented as each status word is read by a CPU.

  • Patent number: 4710903
Abstract: A memory subsystem comprises pseudo-static memory chips operable in a low power self refresh mode or in a standby mode in which less access time is required. All memory chips are initially placed in the self refresh mode and are changed to the standby mode only when individually accessed. Then, the accessed chip is retained in the standby mode until such time as all chips are periodically returned to the self refresh mode. When a memory chip is first changed to the standby mode a delay time is provided to allow for the greater required access time. Thereafter, the memory chips which have then been placed in the standby mode are tracked by latching of addresses and comparison of the latched addresses to subsequently received addresses.
