Patent number: 9533387Abstract: A modular manufacturing system uses a universal base and power infrastructure to receive a variety of tooling plates. This is accomplished by the creation of a modular service interface for simultaneous connection of electrical and fluid power from the base to the tooling plate. In addition, a sensing system is used to automatically identify the specific tool set, and to distinguish between a single plate tool set and a double plate tool set. Individual tool sets are located with certainty through the use of physical placement guide rollers, stops, and friction fit. A PLC manages the power, tool set identification and user interface.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2012Date of Patent: January 3, 2017Assignee: Specialty Technologies L.L.C.Inventors: Bryan Vatterott, Patrick Wilson

Patent number: 9458226Abstract: Antibodies that bind with high affinity to swine H1N1 virus are described. In vivo experiments showed that one such antibody is able to fully protect mice challenged with a lethal dose of swine H1N1 virus. The antibody is also able to cure mice in a therapeutic setting when treated as late as up to 60 hours (2.5 days) after infection with swine H1N1 virus. Also described are recombinant forms of this antibody.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 2010Date of Patent: October 4, 2016Assignees: Emory University, The University of ChicagoInventors: Jens Wrammert, Rafi Ahmed, Patrick Wilson

Patent number: 9163628Abstract: A self-adjusting gear pump is disclosed. The pump may be a crescent internal gear pump, a gerotor pump, or an external gear pump. The pump includes a pump housing, gear housing, first and second gears, a side plate housing with a side plate, a shim and an end plate. The side plate moves between a first position contacting the first and second gears and gear housing, and a second position contacting the end plate. The side plate is spring biased toward the first position. A method is disclosed for match grinding the crescent plate (if used), gear housing and gears as a unit to provide a uniform surface. The side plate housing and side plate are similarly match ground. An assembly method is disclosed which allows the crescent plate to be moved with respect to the gear housing so that clearances between the crescent and the gear teeth are eliminated.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 2013Date of Patent: October 20, 2015Assignee: IMO Industries, Inc.Inventors: Patrick Wilson Duncan, Colette Doll Greene, Philip Taylor Alexander

Publication number: 20150281372Abstract: A computer implement method for creating a user group is provided. In accordance with the method, a temporary session identifier is generated for a first session associated with the user group. The temporary session identifier is communicated to a display for presentation. Requests to join the first session are received from a plurality of users. The requests include the temporary session identifier. User identifiers of the plurality of users are correlated with the temporary session identifier. The user group is created, comprising the user identifiers of the plurality of users and a name for said user group. The user group is stored in memory. A computing device and a non-transitory computer readable medium configured to implement the method are also described.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 30, 2015Publication date: October 1, 2015Inventors: Patrick Wilson, Kathryn Rounding, Matt Mastracci, Erica Arnoldin, Eric Jansson, Benjamin Schuiling

Publication number: 20150227632Abstract: A system and method utilizes a heuristic and databases to decode codes of profiles into plain language and to derive inferences from characteristics of the profiles. The system and method may then automatically match the combination of plain language and/or inferences to specific instances of a plurality of content (e.g., job postings and work opportunities, continuing education classes and educational training, other profiles, entrepreneurial prospects, and geographic resources) and provide the matched instances via a user interface.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 11, 2015Publication date: August 13, 2015Inventors: Jonathon Lunardi, Pamela M. Ferris, Patrick Wilson

Patent number: 9086759Abstract: Various techniques may be employed for assigning user inputs such as a touch on a touchscreen to various input controls such as buttons or other features provided on a touchscreen. One example input assignment technique is a nearest neighbor technique, whereby a touch may, for example, be assigned to an input control that is positioned closest to the touch location. Another example input assignment technique is an angle and distance technique, whereby a touch may, for example, be assigned to an input control based on an angle and a distance of the touch relative to a prior touch.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2013Date of Patent: July 21, 2015Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Jason David Makuch, Pavan Kumar Surishetty, Joshua Wascom, Vinod Murli Mamtani, Jean-Yves Pip Courbois, Gerard Joseph Heinz, II, Kimberly Nicole Hunter, Grant Travis Patrick Wilson, Matthew Louis Vahlsing

Publication number: 20150133214Abstract: Content may have associated interest information that indicates various areas of interest within images displayed during presentation of the content. An area of interest is an area for which a different encoding bitrate may be desired relative to another area. When an image is encoded for transmission, instructions may be provided to an encoding component for encoding of the image based on the associated interest information. The encoding component may then determine appropriate bitrates for different portions of the image based on the interest information while also satisfying overall bitrate constraints for the image as a whole.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 11, 2013Publication date: May 14, 2015Inventors: Scott Wright Heath, Grant Travis Patrick Wilson, Mark Kalman, Keith Emery Belovay
