    Abstract: A humidification system can include a heater base, a humidification chamber, and a breathing circuit. A cartridge can be removably coupled to the heater base. The cartridge can include various sensors, probes, sensor wire connectors, heater wire connectors, and/or other features. The cartridge can include features configured to mate with corresponding features on the humidification chamber and the heater base. The cartridge includes a memory, such as an EEPROM, or other suitable storage device. When the cartridge is installed on the heater base, the memory is electrically connected to a processor and/or memory of the heater base. Various models of cartridges can be produced for use with different humidification chambers, breathing circuits, and/or therapies. A connector can be configured to couple an inspiratory conduit to an outlet port of the humidification chamber. The connector can provide a pneumatic connection to the outlet port and an electrical connection to the cartridge.

    Abstract: Implementing multicast transmission over bonded broadband provides a communication network comprising a plurality of routers having the ability to route multicast streams: a multicast stream splitter receiving a multicast stream and arranged in operation to split the multicast stream into a plurality of multicast sub-streams and to transmit the plurality of multicast streams. The plurality of routers receive the multicast sub-streams and replicate them in dependence upon downstream routers subscribed to the sub-streams. One or more bonding routers serve a single customer serving a plurality of fixed or wireless broadband connections having a respective capacity. Each bonding router subscribes to one or more of the plurality of multicast sub-streams in dependence upon the respective capacity of the plurality of connections; wherein the one or more bonding routers serving a single customer aggregate the plurality of multicast sub-streams to form a single multicast stream for use by the customer.

    Abstract: This invention relates to providing a bonded broadband router for customer premises. The invention provides an apparatus and method for receiving packets from a local area network and sending them over an aggregated link comprising one or more communication links. The local area network has a default router and devices in the local area network have previously been configured to communicate with said default router using a network address associated with said default router. The bonding router is arranged to obtain the network address of said default router and is arranged to regularly transmit a message to devices within said local area network to cause said devices to associate the network address of the default router with the link layer address of the bonding router such that data sent by said devices containing the network address of the default router will instead be directed to the bonding router.

    Abstract: A packet network is arranged into a hierarchy, having one organization-level portion (CS, P, R2) and three site-level portions (S1, S2, S3). By using forwarding computers and assigning multicast addresses in respect of each portion, the total number of multicast addresses required to send multicast messages to all possible subsets of potential recipients is reduced. This alleviates routers in the network of the burden associated with storing and processing a large amount of multicast addresses.
