  • Patent number: 7458886
Abstract: An apparatus for washing the neck area of an animal carcass includes a pair of upwardly inclined brushes sharing a common angle of inclination, followed by a first pair of vertically disposed brushes, a second pair of vertically disposed brushes, and by a pair of downwardly inclined brushes sharing a common angle of inclination. The brushes of each pair of brushes are transversely spaced apart from one another to accommodate an animal carcass between them. First and second fluid headers are positioned in parallel relation to each inclined brush. A neck area of a carcass is initially cleaned by the pair of upwardly inclined brushes and associated fluid headers. The neck area then passes between the first and second pair of vertical brushes and associated fluid headers. The final cleaning is administered by the pair of downwardly inclined brushes and their associated fluid headers.

  • Patent number: 7458624
Abstract: This invention is a tailgate for a pickup truck having a unibody frame that is pivotally secured at its lower end proximal the rear end of the truck bed. The frame includes a pair of linear risers that fit into the rear vertical recesses of the sidewalls of the truck when the tailgate is in a closed position. The risers support a plurality of bowed lateral beams that extend outwardly from the rear of the truck to extend the length of its cargo bay when the tailgate is in its closed. The bowed beams support a set of flat angled ramps that are aligned with the truck bed. The tailgate is swung to an open position so that the ramps extend down from the truck bed and are joined by a detachable ramp to form one or more low incline ramps for loading and unloading items into the cargo bay.

  • Patent number: 7461260
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for finding a shared secret without compromising non-shared secrets are disclosed. The methods and apparatus receive a first group of hashed secrets from a communication device and compare the first group of hashed secrets to a second group of hashed secrets associated with an application server. A shared secret is identified among the first and second groups of hashed secrets. An application associated with the shared secret is sent to the communication device via a communication channel.

  • Patent number: 7458483
Abstract: A diagnostic system with a handling system that has a loading bay to receive and hold a plurality of carriers. An identification device is configured to identify an identifying feature of the carriers to determine the type of contents loaded on each carrier. A transporter transports the carriers from the loading bay to a first or second location depending on the determined type of contents on each carrier. The transporter has random access to the plurality of carriers in the loading bay. A diagnostic process is conducted using the contents. A carrier, such a for reagents, has one or more holding portions, at least one of which can be moved or rotated with respect to the body of the carrier for mixing or stirring the contents of a container coupled therewith. Also, a retention member can be associated with a positioning device, such as a carousel, to lock and unlock the carrier with respect thereto.

  • Patent number: 7459384
Abstract: Methods for preventing cavitation in high aspect ratio dielectric regions in a semiconductor device, and the device so formed, are disclosed. The invention includes depositing a first dielectric in the high aspect ratio dielectric region between a pair of structures, and then removing the first dielectric to form a bearing surface adjacent each structure. The bearing surface prevents cavitation of the interlayer dielectric that subsequently fills the high aspect ratio region.

  • Patent number: 7461237
Abstract: A system that suppresses duplicative prefetches for branch target cache lines. During operation, the system fetches a first cache line into in a fetch buffer. The system then prefetches a second cache line, which immediately follows the first cache line, into the fetch buffer. If a control transfer instruction in the first cache line has a target instruction which is located in the second cache line, the system determines if the control transfer instruction is also located at the end of the first cache line so that a corresponding delay slot for the control transfer instruction is located at the beginning of the second cache line. If so, the system suppresses a subsequent prefetch for a target cache line containing the target instruction because the target instruction is located in the second cache line which has already been prefetched.
