  • Publication number: 20200117231
Abstract: The embodiments employ a transaction based design methodology to supply clocking when clock pulses are requested. The transactional module receives a clock when it requests a clock pulse and one stage of a logic pipeline is clocked at a time. This methodology reduces dynamic power dissipation by the transactional module from the dynamic power dissipated by traditional synchronous logic designs.

  • Patent number: 10619573
Abstract: A gas turbine engine comprises a compressor driven by a shaft, and a reference starting schedule, the compressor having a reference stability boundary, with the reference starting schedule defining a reference working line. A method of starting the gas turbine engine is described in which the method comprises the steps of: (i) accelerating the rotational speed of the shaft towards an engine idle speed; (ii) defining for the compressor, as the rotational speed increases, an operational working line; and (iii) modifying at least one operating parameter of the gas turbine engine as the rotational speed increases such that for a rotational speed, an operational working line is closer to the reference stability boundary than the reference working line is to the reference stability boundary.

  • Patent number: 10613927
Abstract: A method for fast calculation of a frame error rate (FER) of an error correcting code (ECC) soft decoder using a soft read process includes determining an MI-FER conversion data structure based on a relationship between mutual information (MI) of input channels and output channels of a memory, and FER of the ECC soft decoder, and decoding an encoded data codeword stored in a memory page of the memory and read using a soft read process. The method further includes generating a set of joint probability values using the information from the soft read process and data indicating true bit values for the data codeword, determining an MI value using the set of joint probability values, and determining an FER estimate using the MI-FER conversion data structure.

  • Patent number: 10609557
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, determining a first address of user equipment from a mobile communication network connection request and identifying that the user equipment is stationary based on comparing the first address of the user equipment in the connection request to a second address of a stationary subscriber device. A non-tunneling link is initiated between the user equipment and a stationary packet core of the mobile communication network, based on identifying that the user equipment is stationary, and the connection request is converted from a non-access stratum protocol to an authentication protocol responsive to initiating the non-tunneling link. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20200093663
Abstract: The embodiments described and claimed herein are a restraint system for securing a gurney in a vehicle. In one embodiment, a conventional antler and rail-type gurney restraint system is improved by the addition of a center latch restraint that engages with a latch member secured by a support bracket to the underside of the gurney. In one configuration, the latch member enters into engagement with the center latch restraint through lateral movement of the control end of the gurney. In that respect, the EMT may use the same autonomic movements used with the conventional antler and rail-type system to secure the gurney in the vehicle. Optionally, one or more of the gurney occupant restraint belts are directly connected to the support bracket, whereby occupant loads during an accident will bypass the gurney and occupant head excursions can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20200089756
Abstract: Examples for efficiently representing, processing and deciding amongst multiple ambiguous interpretations of human natural language text are described. Processing includes creating and augmenting an “interpretation graph” which represents all known ambiguous interpretations of some natural language text. The interpretation graph is made of vertices (junction points which lead to alternative interpretations) and ‘lexical items’ (natural language objects representing data blocks, tokens, word parts, phrases, clauses, parts of speech, entities, or semantic interpretations) that represent alternative ambiguous interpretations of portions of the text. The examples show a set of simple operations for augmenting the interpretation graph to create alternative interpretations.
