    Abstract: This disclosure relates to improved techniques for detecting and measuring oxidizing compounds in test fluids. Certain embodiments can include a measurement device that can be configured to apply a constant current to the test fluid and measure a reference voltage indicating an electrochemical potential at which electrolysis occurs in the test fluid. The measurement device also can be configured to measure a second voltage indicating an oxidizing potential of the test fluid, and to calculate an oxidizer concentration measurement indicating the concentration of the oxidizing compound in the test fluid based on a voltage difference between the reference voltage and the second voltage.

A method of starting the gas turbine engine is described in which the method comprises the steps of: (i) accelerating the rotational speed of the shaft towards an engine idle speed; (ii) defining for the compressor, as the rotational speed increases, an operational working line; and (iii) modifying at least one operating parameter of the gas turbine engine as the rotational speed increases such that for a rotational speed, an operational working line is closer to the reference stability boundary than the reference working line is to the reference stability boundary.

    Abstract: The embodiments described and claimed herein are a restraint system for securing a gurney in a vehicle. In one embodiment, a conventional antler and rail-type gurney restraint system is improved by the addition of a center latch restraint that engages with a latch member secured by a support bracket to the underside of the gurney. In one configuration, the latch member enters into engagement with the center latch restraint through lateral movement of the control end of the gurney. In that respect, the EMT may use the same autonomic movements used with the conventional antler and rail-type system to secure the gurney in the vehicle. Optionally, one or more of the gurney occupant restraint belts are directly connected to the support bracket, whereby occupant loads during an accident will bypass the gurney and occupant head excursions can be reduced.
