  • Patent number: 5820132
Abstract: When the annular seal 11 which provides sealing around a shaft 1 is damaged, something which is signalled by an oil leak, the axially mobile seal carrier 10 is pushed to the left, with the aid of the lug 13, to bring an additional seal 12 into service, this making it possible to eliminate the leak without any dismantling. This operation can be brought about by a jack and can be automated.Application to all rotating shafts.
