Abstract: A collapsible rack for supporting an automotive body panel, such as a removable automobile hardtop. The collapsible rack supports the panel and becomes more compact for storage. The collapsible rack has a T-shaped member that is removable for placement of the rack in a truck of an automobile, or for stowage in a neck defined by the frame. In a first position, the frame and member hold the hardtop or automotive body panel upright. In a second position, the member is stowed in the frame.

Abstract: A vertical frame has a lower horizontal bar with opposed ends that pivotably receive the rear portions of two L-shaped members. Forward portions of these L-shaped members have abutments to receive one edge of a roof panel to be supported thereon with another part of the panel resting against the top of the vertical frame. Casters on these L-shaped members allow the rack and its load to be transported. Two of these casters have support posts that are received in slots to limit pivotal motion of the L-shaped members relative to the vertical frame.

Abstract: A roof rack for storing a removable roof or body panel when not on the automobile. Two L-shaped legs are mounted in sockets provided in a central column that swings from an inverted position where the legs are stowed alongside the column to deployed positions that support the column in an upright position. A pivoted pad on the column cooperates with abutments at the lower ends of the L-shaped legs to support the roof or other automotive body panel.

Abstract: A transparent plastic panel to replace the conventional metal roof panel removably received by attachment latches in the sun roof opening of a motor vehicle is held in place by fore and aft over center latches designed to mate with the sockets provided by the auto manufacturer for lever operated means on his metal roof panel. In addition to the fore and aft attachment latches on the plastic roof panel a metal edge trim is provided peripherally of the plastic panel, and a seal is mounted to this edge trim.
