The body is adapted to be displaced from a filling state, in which the first and second openings are placed in fluid communication with one another through the internal chamber thereby enabling an airflow to be created through the body from the second opening to the first opening which is able to entrain powder in the exterior environment into the internal chamber for filling thereof, to a sealing state in which the internal chamber is sealed from the exterior environment so as to retain the powder held therein.

Also provided is an inhaler with an extensible strap joining a dust cap to the housing of an inhaler, the strap being particularly suited for use with inhalers that comprise a restricting member. The inhaler is useful, for example, in the treatment of asthma.

Abstract: An inhaler is provided with a closure which may be moved between a closed and open position in order to cover and uncover a mouthpiece. The closure is associated with a revolvable element including a restricting member. Movement of the closure from the open position to the closed position causes the revolvable element to revolve around an axis X thereby placing the restricting member in a restricting position which restricts relative movement between a container unit and the housing such that unintentional actuation of the inhaler is prevented. The inhaler is useful, for example, in the treatment of asthma.
