  • Patent number: 4726422
Abstract: An annular safety assembly comprising, between an upper cylindrical body and a lower cylindrical body, through which connecting tubes of production tubes pass, a packer and a low-bulk anchorage system consisting of a radial spacing ring, a resilient anchorage ring split along a generatrix and provided with peripheral anchorage teeth and a thrust ring which can be moved upwardly by thruster-plungers extending from the lower cylindrical body to apply the anchorage ring to the casing, and a safety valve arranged separately from the connecting tubes, which extend between the said cylindrical bodies, and below the lower cylindrical body.

  • Patent number: 4651827
Abstract: A safety valve for use in a hydrocarbon production tube comprises a valve member which is opened by a piston tube displaceable as a result of the intake of hydraulic fluid into an operating chamber therefor, and a tubular receptacle for receiving an auxiliary safety valve recoverable by means of a cable. The receptacle is longitudinally displaceable between inactive and active positions and is engaged telescopically with the piston tube in a sealed manner to define, with the piston tube, the operating chamber. The receptacle is normally retained in its inactive position by shearable elements, but after the elements have been sheared, descends to its active position simultaneously driving the piston tube to its lower position to open the valve member.

  • Patent number: 4597446
Abstract: A safety valve for installation in a well to close the passage for effluent therefrom comprises a valve body of generally cylindrical shape, shut-off element in a lower part of this body, and a cylindrical slideblock which is slidable longitudinally in the body and adapted to cause, in its descending movement, the opening of the shut-off element. A locking system for locking the valve in the well is located in a radially outer portion of the body and comprises a radially expandable attachment component for engaging, when expanded, in a stop groove provided in the receiving connection of the well surrounding the body. Upper and lower sealing elements for sealing against the receiving connection are arranged on radially outer regions of the body for forming between them a space for receiving a control fluid for the valve, the two sealing elements being arranged longitudinally one on each side of the locking system.

  • Patent number: 4560005
Abstract: A sliding-sleeve valve for an oil well comprises a valve body provided with ports for the passage of fluid therethrough, and a longitudinally slidable sleeve for opening and closing the ports. The sleeve is located on the outside of the valve body and provided internally with drive teeth which are accessible from within the valve body through an orifice in the valve body. The sleeve is moved by an engagement and drive member carried by an actuating tool which is lowered into the valve body. The engagement and drive member is housed in a bush of the tool and caused to project through an orifice in the bush and into engagement with the drive teeth of the sleeve by ramp means during longitudinal displacement of an actuating rod of the tool.

  • Patent number: 4518036
Abstract: In a hydrocarbon production well in which the effluent is activated by an activation pump installed in a production pipe, a safety valve is disposed in the production pipe below the pump, the safety valve being operated by lowering of an operating member by a controlling device. The controlling device comprises a piston and cylinder system, and connection means connecting the piston to the operating member during the downward movement of the piston. The cylinder and piston system is provided at the level of the pump, and is advantageously constituted by the production pipe and pump respectively, so that pressurized fluid present at the level of the pump will cause downward movement of the piston.
